I've heard several times that what you listen to is a witness to your walk with Christ....

My question to you is, does it really represent your strong or weak walk with Christ?

I listen to all kinds of music (both "secular" and "Christian") but I rarely repeatedly listen to music that is poor in quality or have offensive lyrics.

Unfortunately too many people judge others by their presuppositions about music and jump to the wrong conclusions.

In short, your music reveals things about yourself, but others shouldn't try to judge you according to it because they will usually be wrong.

I'm a trained church musician. That's my ministry. I don't know how I'd minister without my musical gifts.

Music, like anything else in the life of a Christian, testifies of our relationship.

I have to agree with Bro.Adam. I don't believe what you listen to portrays what your walk of life with Christ is like. At the moment I feel God calling me into the music industy to witness through songs that I may one day write with his help and to those who will never enter a Christian Bookshop to buy the latest Carolyn Arrends or All Star United c.d. By this I mean entering the world of pop which I know will be tough but with Gods help I can do it. but to also get there and to know what style of music non-Christians enjoy hearing I would greatly benefit from listening to the secular music ie Gareth Gates, Steps, S Club, Blue, Westlife - just to name but some of the artist within this industry. Therefore I believe that what you listen to is not neccessarily a witness to your walk with Christ.

Yes, I believe that the music you listen to does reflect your walk with God.

I am not saying that one needs to listen to hymns all the time, but one should not listen to some of the music that has bad language or satanic or pagan beliefs.

I had a retail shop once and I played Christian music most of the time. No one was offended, but this was my witness to the shoppers at that time.

Most of my customers liked it.
