What one little tract can do ...

    Let me give you a little testimony of how tract ministry can reach people for Christ.

    When I was about 14 or 15 years old I lived in Germany and back then I was still lost. One day I rode to town on my bicycle to buy a couple of things. It was a hot summer day. I had to stop my bicycle at a red traffic light when a car pulled up beside me at the traffic light and a woman rolled down the window of the car and handed me a Jack Chick tract that dealt with the subject of the truth of the Biblical creation account. The woman in the car started talking to me about how evolution was false deception and how I could go to school and point out the errors of evolution by using this tract and becoming a Christian. It was an inspiring but short conversation. The traffic light turned green and we parted.

    Back at home I read the tract and was amazed at the facts it presented as evidence for creation. Something I never heard in any public school biology class. I did not understand what it meant to be born again because I was raised Catholic. But the message within those few pages impressed me and it never went out of my mind. I liked the idea of going to school and pointing out all the Bible truths about creation and other issues like the woman in the car suggested. Though I was lost at the time she saw me as a possible born again, Spirit filled believer who stands for the truth.

    I got saved several years after that when I heard the Gospel again on a Christian shortwave radio station. I believe that tract I received from the Christian lady in the car prepared the way for my salvation later on. So if your tract ministry does not produce qick results, then they still may come years later like in my case. This lady does not know what ever happened to the boy she gave one of her tracts. Many people who pass out Christian tracts don't know what happened to the people they gave to. But we will see the real harvest of souls when we are in Heaven.

    I have to admit that I had a bunch of christian tracts in my atick for years. I ended up giving them away to someone else that I thought might make more use of them than I did. I did get discouraged often when I was younger because I would give out thousands of tracts in Glasgow and very raerly would I see the fruits of my labour.
    I gave in but I did not give up. I will write about that on another thread [​IMG]

    Please also read Isaiah 55 v 10 and 11.

    Tract distribution work is NEVER wasted.

    Someone put a Chick tract on my car years ago and it planted a seed that made me hungry for the Word. Got saved soon after.

    Your just planting the seed you may be the first contact but the 5th or 500th person may actually see the fruit. We are not called to always see the fruit but to cast the seeds.

    I'm looking for somewhere to get the TEN DOLLAR Bill folded tract. It looks like the real deal and then you open it up and it says DIsappointed? You will never be disappointed trusting the Lord (paraphrase) something to that effect

    I don't supose we will ever know the results of our labor untill we get to Heaven, but I do know God promised His Word would not come back wiht out accomplishing what He wanted it to do.

    AMen to the replies on here I have not seen much fruit from the tracts I give out My now wife did get saved form one I gave her before we were married. My Pastor was also saved as a result of tracts. Now while most people will probably not get saved the first time they read a tract to say they dont work like so many do is limiting God. Alastair I would like to encourage you to start a tract ministry again jsut becuase you can't see the results doesn't mean there arent any.

    One quick story I went to the Minnesota zoo and dropped a tract called The wages of sin you can get it from www.raycomfort.com it looks like a hundred dollar bill. I came back aobut 5 minutes later discouraged to see it gone already thinking it got thrown away. I went to watch the dolphins show and in comes a kid handing the tract to his dad. The dad looks at it and says oh it just one of those stupid religious things and thorws it down about 4 seats in front of me face up. I guy comes and sits next to me and sees it and goes to pick it up he pulled it out of the envelope and read the whole thing right their and then gave it to someone he didnt eve know to read.

    One plants another waters but God gives the increase
