Thanks JM - It just so happens that I've been researching Baptist catechisms lately. I'm intersted in ordering Beddome's Cat - where did you order your's from?

Here is a good blog that has a parallel comparison of different baptist catechisms: http://eqdj.wordpress.com/2007/02/07/a-harmony-of-baptist-confessions/

I ordered mine from Chapters.ca for around $13.00 bucks.

In my home we use the catechisms produced by Richard Cecil [with the kids] and William Gadsby and have recently started to use "The Baptist Catechism" by Benjamin Keach. These Baptist works help provide structure for regular study. We also use the 1689 Confession along with the Gospel Standard Articles of Faith, but we've been moving away from the Gospel Standards and focusing on the 1689 of late. The Exposition of the 1689 written by Sam Waldron has been helpful, and I just found an exposition of "The Baptist Catechism" by Beddome that we are considering purchasing.

The catechisms and confessions are free online, all I did was print them off and we keep them in a binder.

I have been teaching through a Baptist catechism on Wednesday nights. I believe that there would be many benefits if Baptists would get back to the habit of catechizing their people. It is really amazing how people can become throughly saturated en God-centered theology.

You can ask my very young children some of the questions and they can give you an answer (granted not always with a correct supporting verse). Glad to see that others are seeing the benefit of catechisms.
