    Andrew,

The new look will take a little getting used to, especially trying to figure out which icon means I have posted in that thread. I have no doubt, in the end, this change will be best for all.

I wanted to thank you for the slight adjustment, "... and the truth shall make you free". I know it doesn't mean much to others but that little change means a lot to me. Now it aligns with verse 36...

Jn 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

    Thanks...

Well I don't think that LeBuick likes change that well. However I for one embrace it. Bring it on Andrew I love the challenge. :type:

Oh by the bye, what happened to the "Donate" button?

I note that since the "upgrade" the BB official time is now only one hour off, in place of the two hours off, previously. Oh well. This is a step in the right direction, I guess. ;)

It seems I spoke too quick. I see we are now back to being off by two hours, here in the Eastern time zone. Why is it that we are correct when we are on Eastern STANDARD Time, but become off by two hours when the move is made to Eastern DAYLIGHT Time, and the BB official time regresses by an hour, considering GMT never changes??

Apparently, only on the Baptist Board, does the time "spring back" and "fall forward".

    Ed

P.S. I also dislike the new format that, so far, is requiring me to "log-in" each time unlike before, when I remained logged in, until I opted to log off. That one is definitely not any upgrade, IMO.

I have a complaint. While I like the new look, it is taking me WAAAYYY too long to go from page to page. (For example, this page took 25 seconds to load through my 100MB internet provider. It used to take 5 to 10 seconds.) This problem does NOT exist regarding other web pages I visit, except for BB pages. And returning to a page I just visitted on BB takes almost as long to load as it first did.

Ed, have you tried checking the box "REMEMBER ME" near the sign-in area? I don't know for sure that it will work, but that SHOULD take care of the problem.

Taking 4-5 seconds to load a page here, which is much faster than yesterday or the day before.

100MB internet connection? What provider do you use? I didn't realize any provider in the US was giving out such speeds.

    1. Ed, I tested my guess, and it works. Try clicking the "REMEMBER ME" block.

    2. Matt, my provider is CenturyTel, our local (but also national) phone company, and is a DSL line (I think), that actually runs at about 8 to 10MBps, even though it says it is a 100MBps connection. I have seen it run over 30MBps. It runs through the phone lines, using the normally unused third and fourth wires in the phone cables.

    3. This page actually took 35 seconds to load this time! However, when I left BB, it took 5 seconds to load the page I went to, and then 5 seconds to go to another page, and then 25 seconds to re-load BB. Is it because I am so far away from the Bible Belt? Still taking a long time in comparison to other sites!

Frankly, I do not like doing the "Remember Me" bit, for any site. And I should certainly not have to do so, when I am actively "logged on" to the BB already, IMO.

But I am getting 'kicked off" the log, between posts, while reading the BB, even. This is certainly not an improvement, at all, but in this part is a "downgrade".

I don't understand what you are complaining about. You don't want to click the "Remember me" option, and yet you complain that the board is not remembering you?! Umm, OK.

Don't listen to the nay sayers Andrew. The site is running much quicker and I for one appreciate it :).

Never once did I have to click on any "Remember me" box, before, after I had been here for about a week, except during some previous re-formattings, except for once, although I may have had to log on again, when the power was out for 12 days during the recent ice storm in KY. I simply do not recall on this one.

I don't particularly mind the having to 'log-in' but I do get annoyed that the site is actually "de-logging" me when I am actively "logged-in" on the site, while reading and then composing posts, after only a very few minutes.
