Which hand are you most skilled at using? Left or right?

    I am right handed.

I'm right handed, as thats where most of my skills are, like using scissors, but I can write nearly as well left handed also, but no scissors.
My son is right also, but all 3 of his children are lefthanded.(mom is right too)

Both I taught myself to write with my right hand just because I wanted to learn to use it. I now mainly write with my right hand. **I did vote left because that's what I started out as and still do most things with.

Interestingly, I, right-handed, happen to have a pair of left-handed scissors. I think they were bought by my dad, who was one to jump at bargains. But he's been dead since 1990, and they somehow came to me; while nobody in our family, even extended family, is left-handed.

Ambidextrous here, but I do more left handed than right, so I voted left.

There's an old saying that goes..."Everyone is born right handed, but only the best can overcome it."

You didn't have ambidextrous as an option.

Right-handed from birth, but I can write with my left hand, ever since I broke my right arm in fifth grade! Dad told me I still had to write my own homework!

Did you hear about the guy that said, "I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous."

OK, bad joke. Back to the OP.

Did you see that brick? It came from the left, didn't it?

If you tried to be left-handed when I was a lad in school, you got a rod across your hand. Right handers ruled the roost in those days.

    Cheers,

When I was in kindergarten I was a special child as I could not cut out the objects I had colored with right-handed scissors. There was a tub of scissors in the room that everyone shared, at appropriate times, of course. Except for me. The teacher kept my scissors in her desk and personally delivered them to me when it was time to use them. I enjoyed being a prima donna back in those kindergarten days and have missed kindergarten ever since!

drfuss: Where do you get left handed scissors? I have always wanted a pair. I have had to use right handed scissors all my life.

BTW, buttons on men's clothes are made for right handers because when buttons were first introduced, men dressed themselves. On the other hand (pun intended), womens buttons are on the other side. This is because when buttons were first introduced, only rich women had buttons who were dressed by servants. This allowed the servants to use their right hands for buttoning the women's dresses.

So that explains it! I always wondered about those buttons being on the "wrong" side for women's clothes! [IMG]
