Are the people promised as heirs to Abraham different from the people who came out of Egypt with Moses and crossed the Jordan with Joshua?

Is this not the bottom line problem of half the threads on this list? Only asking. I can argue both ways.

Romans 4 offers a good explanation.

Abraham is the father of all who believe.

Moses is the father of those who believe and are subject to the Law.

Abraham vs. Moses? I thought they were on the same team.

God’s people are those who seek Him and are obedient. Time is an interesting thing. Try not to think of things in the terms of time. Christ born after Abraham but is the Lord of us all.

They were until they had the big match with John Cena and the Big Show. Seems Abraham never forgave Moses for accidently whacking him with the staff and costing them the Tag Team Championship. :D

Right! Then gentile Christians in Reno have no obligation to the 613 or the 10. Then why do some Baptists and all Reformed people insist on applying the 10 Commandments to themselves?

    Read Galatians.

The "promises made" were to Abraham's seed. Not "seeds"... plural... but "seed" ... singular. Meaning Jesus Christ.

Gen 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

    Paul argues this in Galatians:

Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Paul comes to the inevitable conclusion regarding the promises made (Abraham's covenant):

Gal 3:29 And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Then there is no longer any necessity for a political or religious nation of Israel?

In English, "seed" is the plural of "seed." One buys lawn seed, not lawn seeds.

Only Christ will restore Israel/Church when He returns. Modern Israel is a testament to the jews. A people who hate the Christ, a people who's religion IS Christ rejection.

I don't think that's the case. God blesses Ishmael and says he will be "A great nation with 12 princes" (Gen 17:20). This prophecy is an obvious reference to the physical heirs or seed of Abraham - the Jews... the Nation of Israel. (Paul confirms this in Galatians 4:21-28 when he correlates the nation of Israel with Hagar and Ishmael)

I doubt the Apostle Paul is quoting English in Galatians 3:16. Though, I am typing it, so your point is taken.
