Ayn Rand was a good anti-war conservative capitalist. But she denied any of Christ's deity, and had quite a famous adulterous affair. I like her work, but don't agree with her on everything.

That being said, I wouldn't trust Hollywood, especially the Baldwins, to accurately portray this novel.

Rarely, if ever, have I liked a movie of ANY book that I have previously read.

    WHY? Glad you asked!

1 - I have my own ideas of how the characters appear and sound, and the real life actors never match my pre-conceived image
2 - I have never read a book that was made into a movie, that did not take license with the script and, IMNSHO, totally screwed up the plot.
3 - In today's movie industry, politics plays far too big a role, and a book of this nature is so far UN-PC that I'm certain the lead characters will be portrayed as Madoffs or worse, while the sorry characters of the novel are the heros of the flick.

This novel is one that the left would just slobber over mutilating simply because they can portray Big Business as an extreme villain.

Can't help but remember the flick "The Blue Max"; a story from the German perspective of the aerial battles of WWI. The producers wove this tale so adroitely that I suddenly realized 'bout halfway through the movie, that I was pulling for the Germans to win over the Brits.

I suddenly realized the power the media has over us if we aren't real careful!!!

In a nutshell, that's why I hate to see this novel become a movie - it will be nothing more than a propaganda tool for the liberals.

Now if this were done according to the actual novel, it would be a great film!!!!!

I used to like reading Clive Cussler, (and still do), but Matt McCoghnahy?, Maconahey?, McCaughnahee?, (the guy that was busted in Austin some time back playing the bongos while naked), playing Dirk Pitt in Sahara?
Might as well have Pee Wee Herman playing the next Batman role.
But then he might make an interesting Joker LOL.
