Just got word that Jay Cutler is now a Chicago Bear. Your thoughts of the move.

Jay and the coach should have put egos aside and talk this thing out.

I'm thrilled! 2 thumbs way up!

I never thought the Bears would go to the mattress to get him, but they did. He's the best QB the Bears have had since Sid Luckman in the 40s. And since that was such a different era in the sport, you could make an argument that Cutler is the most talented QB in franchise history.

Did I hear it right that Chicago gave up Orton and 2 high draft choices? If so, I would say Denver made the better deal. And have you noticed?... QB's who play part of a career in Denver seem to do their best playing while there? Brian Griese and Jake Plummer, for 2 examples.

Also, anyone recall the 2006 draft? It was thought to be either Vince Young or Reggie Bush as going first to Houston; but Houston frustrated its fans greatly by selecting DE Mario Williams. Then Bush went to N.O. and Young went to Tennessee, while Heisman winning QB Matt Leinart went lower than expected, while most talent evaluators began saying Cutler was the QB who will be most ready to play quickly. That draft is beginning to shape up as it went. Williams is really coming on as a DE, and Cutler was the most ready-to-play QB. The verdicts are still out on Young and Bush (but remember the controversey over Young's psychological evaluations?-- they seem to be proving correct, also).

But bottom line... Cutler was the vaulting star by draft time, and he has probably accomplished the most-- possibly the most he will, already. QB's play better at Denver; and worse at Chicago. Obviously, we'll see.

As a lifetime Orange Crush and Number 7 veteran....I can say this to Cutler:

Good riddance, you egotistical spoiled brat! :applause:

Cutler grumbled every day since Shanahan got fired. He would've never worked for the new coach.

Why would you say this? Because there's a guarantee that drafted players will be good or great players? What you're saying is that you would rather have 2 unknown players who may or may not be any good at football plus an average, at best, QB in Kyle Orton, instead of 1 of the 10 best QB's in the NFL. I'm glad you're not running my football team.

Cutler is not only younger than Orton, but he's better at football than Orton and is 1 of the 10 best QB's in the NFL. We've seen what Cutler and Orton can do. Cutler is clearly the better QB and it's not even close. Did you know that only 2 QB's have thrown for more yards in the last 2 years than Jay Cutler? Those 2 QB's are Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

Do you think that maybe it's because Denver has had better players in that position than Chicago has?

He wasn't really given the chance, was he? McDaniels wasn't on the job even a month and tried to get rid of Cutler for Cassell. Dumb. Not because Cassell's a bad QB, because Cassell's a good QB. It's dumb because he already had a QB who was better than Cassell.

But, I'm glad McDaniels is the coach of the Broncos. They've become a worse team and the Bears have become a better team.

Like I said, Cutler whined from the day Shanahan drove out of the Dove Valley complex.

    We will rebuild. I promise.

I was listening to ESPN radio today and one of their guys kept referring to Cutler's "lifestyle." He didn't get specific. Does anybody know what that's about?

Cutler's a known partyer. I was listening to 670thescore yesterday and they were getting messages from fans about this very thing. The thing is, Kyle Orton does the same thing.

He can do all the partying he wants, I don't care as long as he provides consistant play AND can throw the deep ball.

Now we need some frick'n receivers to catch this deep ball.

Chicago also picked up Orlando Pace, beyond his good years, perhaps, very servicable and potential upside, yes.

Plummers best season of his career was in Denver, his best seasons were in Arizona where he put up almost as good a numbers as his second season in Denver. He declined in Denver, so that comment would be incorrect. Brian's best season of his career was in Tampa Bay. And Brian never played a complete season in Denver (All 16 games). He was overrated from the beginning of his career and set up to fail trying to follow an All Time Great.

Chicago hasn't had great QB play in a long time, which has been pointed out. Denver gets a serviceable QB that has a winning record and a good head on his shoulders and two first rounders. Chicago gets a QB that can throw the deep ball and apparently has the potential to be something really great. Combine that with Forte and hopefully good o-line play, we might be actual contenders in the division. All because two grown men couldn't get along. I love it!!!

Could not possibly care less. The Broncos could go 2-14 for the rest of time and it wouldn't matter to me.

I'm not worried about who the receivers are. Remember how the experts said that Michael Vick in Atlanta didn't have anybody to throw too? Matt Ryan certainly didn't have that problem, and I don't think the Falcons brought in any new receivers last year. I'm not discounting the need for good receivers, but a good QB makes the receivers better. Not only that, a good QB makes the entire team better.

The only ability of Pace's that's been questioned is his ability to stay healthy. When healthy, he's one of the best left tackles in the league.

I'm interested to see if the Bears can land a receiver like Torry Holt, who I don't think is washed up yet.

If the trade turns out to be a bust and I turn out to be an idiot because of what I said, just remember that I'm already an idiot. :wavey:
