SACRAMENTO – Americans took to the streets to protest wasteful government spending today – with estimated crowd sizes of 5,000 to 10,000 in Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Olympia, Wash., Lansing, Mich., and Sacramento. .........

At the California Capitol, a sea of red, white and blue U.S. flags waved above a large crowd that surrounded the building and spilled into city streets. Visitors arrived in yellow school buses from surrounding cities. ..........One Highway Patrolman told WND there were more than 5,000 people at the event.

...................Meanwhile, in Washington D.C., 1,000 people huddled beneath umbrellas in Lafayette Park across from the White House. The crowd consisted of a broad variety of protesters of different ages, nationalities and political parties.

.................In Rochester, N.Y., 1,000 tea partiers marched on the county administration building and city hall.

Approximately 4,000 people crowded Fountain Square in Cincinnati, while 8,000 gathered in Madison, Wis., 5,000 surrounded the Oklahoma Capitol and 4,000 attended the Chicago party. Even Rhode Island, the smallest U.S. state, brought 1,000 protesters to its Capitol.

Washington state police estimated crowds of 5,000 in Olympia while 2,500 marched the streets of Boise, Idaho and 1,500 rallied in Austin, Texas. In Lansing, Mich., throngs were measured at 7,000, while 3,000 gathered in Hartford, Conn., and 2,000 Floridians in Jacksonville poured wagons of tea into the St. Johns River.

An additional 1,000 people packed into Market Square in Pittsburgh, Pa., while some 3,000 gathered in Des Moines, Iowa, and 1,500 gathered in Louisville, Ky. There are reports of 7,000 at the North Houston tea party and 5,000 in Phoenix, Ariz., while organizers announced that 8,000 people showed up at the tea party in St. Louis, Mo. An estimated 7,500 packed the Central Valley tea party in California.

It seems the tea parties lost press to the DHS report. What do you guys think? Do you think that controversial report was released when it was on purpose? Knowing it would get the reaction it did.

The tea parties was a great idea . I understand over 250,000 people took the time to take part.

I can see why Obama would want to be "unaware" of such a protest. :tonofbricks:

They are essentially protesting ahead of the effects of runaway government spending. They are a whole lot smarter than liberals. They know taxes will increase on every man, woman, and child in the US as a result of Obama's socialist agenda.

Funny guy Rev, you won't let me live that one down. Not like I read the site.

I went by what I saw today on the new channels. I saw more about the DHS report then I did on the TP's.

Major Media Refuses to Report on Thousands of Anti-Bailout Tea Party Protesters
Major media outlets refused to report on the thousands of "tea party" protesters who gathered again this weekend at several events across the nation to protest the Democrat's historic binge spending.
But, the 40 anti-AIG protesters made headlines.

MSM Absent On Reporting Anti-Bailout Tea Party Protests
By Steve Foley - Posted on March 22nd, 2009
    Tagged: Op-Ed

Here in California and in cities and towns all across this great country Revolution’s in the air. Anti-Bailout Tea Party protests have continued to take place for weeks now, with little to no MSM press coverage to speak of. Not surprisingly, The MSM somehow found the 40 anti-AIG protesters to be more newsworthy than the thousands of people attending Anti-Bailout Tea Party protests around the country?
    SNIP

“40 anti-AIG protesters made headlines while More than 4,000 people gathered yesterday at the Orlando Tea Party protest. More than 200 turned out in Raleigh. 300 in Ridgefield, Connecticut. 1,200 turned out in Lexington, Kentucky.”

I have been reading and researching this morning about the Department of Homeland Security report and the Tea Parties. According to ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, left wing bloggers and liberal newspapers, the tea parties were largely organized by “right wing extremists”. Here is some of what was reported:

Then would we call Fox the conservative media? They went as far as to insert their name as part of these protest? Kind of hard to say you're not biased when you call the parties, "FNC Tea Parties"...

What is not being noted is the reports CNN has shown against Obama budget, bailouts and his stimulus plan. I watch CNN and will admit it leans to the left but it does give the rights views airtime. I don't watch Fox regularly but from what I've seen they don't do the same. I sure don't expect to see unbiased reporting from Hannity, Beck etc...

They bring the left on most of their programs all the time. It is a primary focus of their programming. That includes Hannity and Beck. But you don't really know enough about them to comment.
