A former Army colonel says President Obama gave all the terrorists planning to do "bad things" to the United States a huge assurance today when he released memos from the Bush presidency regarding interrogation techniques for such suspects.

The actions were "bad form, bad tactics, bad strategy until this war is over," according to retired U.S. Army Col. Bob Maginnis. ........

........"We're at war," he continued. "It's a strategic mistake on the part of the president to release the details on how we will address would-be or confirmed terrorists who may have information that could lead us to stop pending attacks.

    "I find it unacceptable completely."

The officer noted there's "a distinction between knowing for certain what your enemy is going to do and suspecting what your enemy is going to do."

Media speculation has given terrorists enough information to "suspect."

Obama now has "removed any doubt."

If the US under the previous administration broke international law by torturing captives it was holding without charging them with a crime that should be brought out and rejected.

Torture is apparently in the eye of the beholder. It was not torture in the eyes of the anti-American-radical-left for the Muslim terrorists to saw off the head of captives; but pouring water on the covered face of a terrorist is torture.

He is wrong... We no longer plan to use those methods so this is a non-issue.

There is no such thing as "international law" We may have treaty's, but thats all. The US is an independent nation and totally autonomous. (much like a Baptist church). The UN is only a "clearing house" ) like the Southern Bap Conv)

I have no problem with the US being part of the UN, the problem begins when the UN rules the US

You really believe all that?

The U.S. is under the control of private central bankers and transnational corporations. When you hear all those red white and blue patriotic speeches about protecting American interests this is what they're really talking about...using our military might and our blood and treasure to protect the interests of a handful of anti American/anti democratic oligarchs that control the levers of power.

We're about as indepedent as a lap dog.

Bush should be held accountable for his deceptions and abuse of power as should they all.

Poncho you occasionally make a point but sometimes you sound like LB or JC who never make a valid point, just acrimony against Bush and praise for Obama.

obama has no idea what he's doing, his inexperience causes serious mistakes, and will continue to do so. And he doesn't care either.

No he is not wrong and by the way you must have missed that Obama said he will not completely rule out waterboarding.
