When he was overseas the last time, he was quick to say that America is not a Christian nation. The truth is our nation was founded upon Christian principles. It sounded like he was trying to distance himself from Christianity.

==America is not a Christian nation and never has been. Why not? Because such a thing does not exist. A Christian is a follower of Christ, an individual who has repented of his/her sin and turned to Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. A nation cannot do that. The New Testament knows nothing of a "Christian nation". Even if it did the United States would not be able to claim such a title. Why? Slavery, abortion, homosexuality, fornication, adultery, and the list goes on and on.

Btw, a quick review of history will show several empires/nations that claimed to be Christian. America is not unique in that claim.

    Only God Really Knows...

....if Obama is, or is not a believer. I am not sticking up for him. Believe me, I dislike him more than anyone on this board, STILL, to say whether of not he is a Christian is not or job. We've been called to witness on behalf of Jesus, and win people over to Christ. To judge another's walk or relationship is not or responsibility.

I would say that his behavior is not reflective of having Christ in his heart, but, ultimately, only God knows for sure if his name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life (Rev. 21:27).

    Shalom,

    Pastor Paul:type:

"To judge another's walk or relationship is not or responsibility." So did you read where we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers? Are you saying you CANNOT tell if someone is born again or use discernment? Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 1John speaks about the "spirit of antichrist" and not to be fooled.:type:

I don't have to watch the video to know that I doubt Barack Obama knows what Salvation is.

He was a member of a church that teaches liberation theology...

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/liberation+theology

This very fact explains why his policies seem socialistic to evangelicals...

Liberation theologists teach that by erasing social ills from the population, mankind will be saved.. there will be no need for sin.
They emphasize the good works Jesus did, and teach that if we imitate them, we will have salvation.

Evangelical theologists teach that the only way to salvation is through Jesus, and our salvation is based on the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross.

So, according to the teaching of the Bible about salvation, and the way us evangelicals believe humans get to Heaven, Mr. Obama's theology isn't true. So.. unless he sees the need to be "born again" He will never see the Kingdom of God.

I have seen his interviews where he doesn't even understand the definition of sin.

So based on his belief structure, based on his works.. (which are tell tell signs.. i.e. no person that supports abortion is saved. .. you can't have the Holy Spirit in you, and support killing babies).. then I would say that our President needs our prayers for his salvation.

Pray for your leader George Bush. He said exactly what this video claims Obama said.

Give this practice up. It makes you look like a fool. And BTW I'll match my intelligence against any of the conservatives on the board. Wanna give it a shot?

Making broad statements like this is no way to show your intelligence. Just like conservatives, liberals don't all believe the same about every person or position. This is my assessment, and I voted for McCain during the last election.

As far as Obama being a Christian or not, it's not for me to decide. I believe many of his viewpoints don't match what I think a Christian should believe. And, much of his legislation is not the way I believe this country should be going.

I think the real problem is not what Obama does or believes; I think the main problem is that so many of the American citizens don't follow Christ or believe this country should embrace Christian ideals. If this were not the case, Obama would not have been elected in 2008.

Granted, a person worship whoever they want to. That doesn't change the fact that our nation was founded upon Christian principles. One part of being a Christian that most people fail to hit on is that you have free will. Free will means you have the freedom to make your own decisions. However, there is price to pay for having that freedom. You always have to reap the consequences (good or bad).

So yes, technically, our official religion isn't listed as Christian. I'm saying it should have been.

One other thing that I wanted to point out too is while I was watching the video segment on reason #2 & noticed another video (about 12 seconds long) where he acknowledges "his Muslim faith".

Evidence suggests Obama is not a Christian, however, the dogmatic statements made in this thread such as, we need to pray for his salvation, are, to put it nicely, ludicrous. Only the Lord knows if he is saved or not, but you don't. No one on this thread is God, and they sure do not have His mind.

For you Bush supporters that whine about Obama this and Obama that, you are getting exactly what you deserve, because for the last eight years you tolerated a liberal President and Congress that pretended to be conservative. You turned a blind eye the other way to it. We reap what we sow. The reason Obama is in office is that Bush did not do his job, and you supported him. Many, many conservatives stayed at home because of that in 2008. In essence, those complaining the most might as well have voted for Obama.

"Only the Lord knows if he is saved or not, but you don't." Whatever happened to people knowing a bad tree???? I suggest reading 1 John....... John would be accused of being judgmental here.

It is true.. we can't know 100% either way..

But I will still pray for his salvation... then if he is saved.. Praise God.. my prayers are answered..
If he is not.. then I will still be praying for the leader of our country...

He either is.. or not.. (duh)... so prayers don't hurt.
