When the gunfire broke out, Capt. Sean K. Keneally scrambled over to Master Sgt. Anthony Davis, who was lying flat on his back, and dragged him to a nearby building.

It was too late. Sergeant Davis, a member of a small team of American military advisers embedded with an Iraqi Army battalion in this remote town, was dead. Minutes later, Captain Keneally learned that a soldier in that battalion, with whom the advisers had lived and worked for months, had killed him.

The shock set in, and so did the new reality.

Has there been any determination as to what may have caused them to fire on on our own troops? Was it a severe case of PTSD (Post Truamatic Stress Disorder)? I can't understand what would make someone kill people on the same side.

What makes people murder their family? What makes a murderer murder anyone?

    Unverified:

The Camp Liberty shooter was muslim according to BBC Arabic report‏ "BBC Arabic is saying the the Iraqi Army claims that the perpetrator was a Muslim, in fact the Imam at Camp Liberty's mosque..."

If true, you can bet our PC press has the lid on it.

I know that. Usually, when you are at war you aren't expected to shoot those who are serving with you. You're supposed to be shooting the enemy.

Master Sgt. Davis was the father of five. May God protect, provide and comfort his wife and children.

The shooter had help to get away. It was planned. No PTSD. Read the news. Tragic!
