So what is everyone view on Creation and why?

For those who don't know some of the options:

The Framework interpretation - The framework interpretation (or framework hypothesis) notes that there is a pattern or "framework" present in the Genesis account and that, because of this, the account may not have been intended as a strict chronological record of creation. Instead, the creative events may be presented in a topical order. This view is broad enough that proponents of other old earth views (such as many Day-Age creationists) have no problem with many of the key points put forward by the hypothesis, though they might believe that there is a certain degree of chronology present

    and

Day-Age Creationism - Day-Age Creationism is an effort to reconcile the literal Genesis account of Creation with modern scientific theories on the age of the Universe, the Earth, life, and humans. It holds that the six days referred to in the Genesis account of creation are not ordinary 24-hour days, but rather are much longer periods (of thousands or millions of years). The Genesis account is then interpreted as an account of the process of cosmic evolution, providing a broad base on which any number of theories and interpretations are built. Proponents of the Day-Age Theory can be found among theistic evolutionists and progressive creationists.

Those options are a tad bit confusing for me.

All I know is that God created the earth, heavens, the stars, & mankind. We didn't come from an ooze, evolve from apes, or come from a single celled organism. That's just science's way of attempting to disprove what is in the Bible.

The poll is Creation oriented, I don't care about evolution particularly. I included the definitions so as to help have a better understanding for the two people here may not know about.

YEC - Young Earth means 24/6 day creation
OEC - Old earth means an old earth creation

Pal, you beat me to it!

It's in the first couple of chapters of Genesis! Pretty easy to understand.

I voted Other. I hold to a literal account of what's in Genesis.

I do believe in a six day creation, but I do leave room for the "gap" theory

Nothing to indicate in the bible that there was a gap between the first and second day. The "gap theory" is just another way to try and shape your view of God and His creation to match your worldview. Why is there a need to try and limit God's power? If He says He did it in six literal, consecutive days, then who are why to argue?

I did not say between the first and second day -
I'm talking about between Gen 1:1 and 1:2

Where's verse 1:1.5 that says there was a gap?

Didn't the gap theory come about in order to make evolution compatible with the Bible?

Actually, I think it came about in order to explain the age of the earth being millions of years old.

Supposedly, God created the earth then Satan fell from heaven after verse 1 and that is why in verse 2 the "earth was without form and void". In between the original creation and the time Satan destroyed it millions of years had passed. So God recreated everything.

    I think that's the theory.

Let me point out the gap by making it huge, bold, and red (emphasis by Ed):

    Gen 1:1-2 (KJV1611 Edition, e-sword.com ):
In the beginning God created the Heauen,
    and the Earth
    .

2 And the earth was without forme,
and voyd, and darkenesse was vpon
the face of the deepe: and the
Spirit of God mooued vpon the face
    of the waters.

please note that the 'and' that starts verse two is in direct contradiction to the Rule I learned in American English Language class in the public schools of Texas and Oklahoma:

And you are never to start a sentence with the word 'and'.

    (another one I learned:
You are never to find a preposition to end your sentence with! )

Strangely, the 'and' that starts Gen 1:2 through 1:10 does not come from the Hebrew sources. The 'and' that starts Gen 1:3 through 1:10 Comes from the LXX (Septuagint), the Greek translation of the Old Testament probably made about 0200 BC. See:

    http://www.septuagint.org/LXX/Genesis/1

Strange, eh :godisgood: the KJV uses the LXX as a source for the dramatic effect of Genesis chapter one: the repeated ANDs

Yes, I think that the age of the earth, however, came along with evolution. I disagree with the gap theory. The description of the "earth without form and void" is not negative at all.
