    .............One thing is clear: Pelosi herself now concedes that she knew about the CIA program — including the waterboarding — far earlier than she had led the public to believe. Her calls for a "Truth Commission" come six years after she now admits that she first learned about the CIA enhanced interrogation program..............

    Pelosi needs to do one of three things: Formally apologize to the CIA, provide documents that state that the CIA is lying, or be put under oath & testify about it.

    So far I haven't even heard Obama weigh in on the issue. Maybe his telepromter hasn't told him what he needs to say.

    Many to include the dem's knew the kind of information that was flowing from the interrogation of these terrorists. They knew it protected soldier's lives and even the lives of those of us living here in the good old U.S.A. But, now it has become politically expedient to use what they formally approved of in a witch hunt against Republicans. They would sacrifice the lives of soldiers, the reputation of the United States (which dem's think is so important), and increase the risk of another attack here in the U.S. to gain some hits against the Republicans. Sad.

    Indeed. Would be nice to see some Dems have the backbone to abandon her politically and call for one. She's completely incompetent.

    I would think the last thing anyone in congress would want is any kind of truth commission. The truth is bad medicine in the district of criminals.

    The appearance of several subordinates at the news conference Friday indicate that the democrats have decided to protect Pelosi.

    I think I may know why the democrats aren't here defending Pelosi OR. It could very well be that the republicans, neocons, and Bush 28 percenters have already used up all the really good lame excuses defending Bush when he was lying to everyone and the dems just can't come up with any new excuses to defend Pelosi. :laugh:

    Obama was against it from the start, she would have been smart to listen to him. Now she has herself in a pickle...

    He (or she) who is without sin cast the first stone... She was warned.

    What is there to defend? She clearly contradicted herself. We don't know the truth as to who knew what and when but she has changed her tune...

    The papers Cheney wants released are recollections and not actual notes from the meetings so I don't know what they will prove either.
