I found this a very interesting and hopeful article.

I added the bold at the end of the quote. The statement seems very reasonable to me.

    Creation Care

I absolutely agree. Many's the discussion/argument we've had around our dining table with our youngest son about environmental issues. I would have to state that as stewards, we are to be responsible for overseeing God's vineyard, not bleeding it dry. We simply cannot escape the fact, that global warming is taking place; that the human race is largely to blame and we must do something about it before it's too late! It's not enough to just talk about it. Some recent scientific predictions are claiming that we have at most 20 - 25 years to turn the tide. I may not totally agree with all that the Al Gore's of this world predict, but I would rather err on the side of caution/reason, than turn the proverbial blind eye and scoff at this as if it were all nonsense. Were it not for the Al Gore's and much of our younger generation, we'd still be burying our heads in the sand. I'm not a rabid environmentalist, but even I have managed to change my habits drastically over the past 2-3 years and still try to find ways to recycle/reduce and if I can do it as a sign of respect for my Heavenly Father's beautiful creation, we all can.

I am all for reducing pollution to keep our air, water, and land clean; however, I have serious doubts that human beings are responsible for any significant climate change, if any. Here is a very, very good article on the subject from someone who is able to explain this:

    Yes, we are responsible.

But it is due to SIN, not to "pollution".

We are fortunate that under the last administration the pollution across the US was greatly reduced.

    I agree with that pastor.

Not only regarding the environment, but the animal kingdom as well. I couldnt fellowship at a liberal church even if they paid me to, but these are two areas where the liberal churches are actually getting it RIGHT. (miracles CAN happen!)

I've heard Baptist preachers (and other evangelicals) say things like "The liberals are busy taking care of the environment and the animals, yet millions of babies are being killed! How can we care for those issues when babies are being killed?"

    Easy. Its not "either/or".

Its BOTH. Its ALL of it. Babies, animals and the environment.

God does not have tunnel vision, as we sometimes do.

OF COURSE the slaughter of babies is more important than animals and the environment...but dont COMPLETLY IGNORE those other issues...because God surely doesnt.

My previous post makes clear that I agree with liberal churches regarding some issues that Baptists sometimes dont even consider......however.

I am still completely unconvinced regarding this "global warming" buisiness.

Global warming is a fact, it's the causes that are questioned. man has some impact, the sun getting hotter is another. Just check the alterating wind currents which have caused the idea we are going into another ice age. The warmer air invades the colder climates pushing the cold air farther south.

We as God's children wouldn't be very good stewards to take the creation for granted.

Adam was told to tend the garden, not destroy it by using it up.

I know, I know, I'm an "idiot", so says sn.

It's nice to have fellowship with people who call me derogatory names.:type:

    Harold...

I agree completely. Not just regarding the natural elements, but also our treatment and care for Gods animals.

Dont know who "sn" is, but I'm with you.

    From article posted in OP:
I see a weird thing here -- "theology of ecology." "Theology" itself means the study of God. How can there be a "study of God of ecology?"

Having been in environmental issues as a New Ager, I can say this: once you start caring for the earth, there is no end to it. Where do you draw the line? There isn't any; I guarantee it. Gaia is insatiable.

I think we should just use common sense as much as possible with regards to the earth. There will be waste no matter what we do, and the earth will continue to deteriorate because, guess what, we live in a fallen world!

If their afraid of "Global Warming" just what and see what Jesus will do with it! 2 Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!:flower:

It is not a fact. We are now in a cooling cycle.

Only in the lower latitudes are we in a cooling cycle. Look into the upper areas where the mean temperature is rising gradually. Check out the studies done on the air currents: hot/cold to see the changes, then tell us.

As warm air passes into the artic and antartic zones it pushes cold air towards the equatorial zones. This gives an indication of a possible ice age on the forefront.

What is happening cannot be denied: the overall mean temperature is falling, but the colder regions it is rising. Some look at this as just another earth cycle, but the ozone gases determine something different.

A global change environmentally is inevitable: whether that is manmade or nature is yet to be determined.

Bottomline:man effects his environment. How severe is yet to be known except in isolated cases where it is already been proven.

Some one said use "common sense" in dealing with the environment. As a highschool ecology club member I have seen some atrocious things man has done in polluting it. All I can say without backing up is we need to use some common sense. God will destroy the earth with fire and brimstone due to sin. man could speed up the process by injection of chemicals that will help it burn. Man could also speed it up by the use of nuclear weapons. Israel told palestine they would turn them into a sea of glass. Palestine backed off knowing this is possible if enough nuclear explosions were set off into any given area of the desert regions.

Use common sense? I say , YES!

I'm not sure there is "global warming" or the more proper term "climate change" in the sense that it is presented by the environmentalist. I don't negate that we should be mindful of our world and that we should use common sense in our daily lives, but today this is presented as if in just a few years we humans will destroy the planet. I don't buy into this for one minute. I believe this is a tactic that is being used to farther enslave our country by the globalist which will continue to make the U.S. a third world country.

No it is not rising either. Now 70 % of the stations measuring temps are now under question because they are to close to areas that produce man made warming temps.

But the truth of the matter is that this whole farce is a political tool, it is not science. It is used to gain power and control over people's lives. That is its real and only agenda.

I have made this point about stewardship in previous threads on this topic. The reality of global warming is irrelevant. The causes of global warming are irrelevant. It is the quality of our stewardship of what God has given us that is at issue. I would refer you to the agricultural and environmental writings of Wendell Berry and his arguments for reasonable use of the environment as opposed to abuse which happens all to often.
