A lot of people of the radical left have jumped on the water boarding of three Islamic terrorist as the gravest of evils, a violation of the Geneva Conventions, a recruiting tool for additional terrorists, the reason we are despised around the world, and proof of the utter failure of the Bush Administration. This last is all they really care about.

It is also a fact that this same group of radical leftists, joined at the hip by most democrat politicians, are rabidly in favor of the continued slaughter of unborn children.

Sadly last November a rabid abortionist who not only supported the murder of the unborn but the just born was elected president.

It is my contention that abortion is Satanic by nature whereas water boarding of three terrorists to obtain information that could save an untold number of lives, while unpleasant, is not by its nature evil. Furthermore, if GOD chooses at this time to bring judgment to this country HE has so richly blessed it will be because of the Satanic slaughter of 50,000,000 unborn children, not because of the water boarding of three terrorists.

However, given the response of some on this Forum one would think that the reverse is true: water boarding is Satanic, abortion is just an unpleasant reality better left in the shadow with the results in a garbage dump.

Both are evil. Neither should be supported by Christians.

I agree, however nations must do what ever is necessary to protect it's citizens and Christians are not to interfere. Personally I could not waterboard anyone, but it would be hard to deny myself if I knew that a felon had information that could threaten my family.

Abortion is a straight up evil that takes the life of an innocent and if governments fail to protect their most innocent they are outside their Godly mandate for their existence.

Therefore I reason that abortion is evil and waterboarding is sometimes a necessity for a nation to protect their innocents.

This is not an "either/or" situation. It is like saying which is tasty, cake or ice cream.

It is either/or. No rational person can equate the water boarding of three terrorists with the slaughter of 50,000,000 and counting unborn children. Such slaughter is Satanic, period.

Would you kill to protect your family? If the answer is yes then your above statement is hypocritical.

Certain men in this country water boarded three terrorist, one responsible for the deaths of 3000 people not just Americans, in order to protect our families from possible death and you call that evil and on par with the slaughter of 50,000,000 unborn children. Water boarding left no permanent injury. The deaths of those 3000 did. The deaths of all the men fighting to protect this country left a permanent injury. I know!

Your response is as expected. I could offer the same response I did to canadyjd but I responded to some remarks by you on another thread which I think are appropriate, as follows:

    "You voted for a man:

    1. Who believes the slaughter of the unborn and unborn is acceptable.

    2. Who in his short time in office has already increased the slaughter of the unborn.

    3. Who will appoint a pro-slaughter-of-the-unborn Justice to the Supreme Court while John McCain would have appointed a Justice who believes in life.

You continuously smite about the head and shoulders anyone who supported the waterboarding of 3 terrorists to save lives yet you hypocritically vote for a person who is content to continue the slaughter of the unborn and the just born, 50,000,000 and counting.

You need to spend some time on your knees begging GOD for HIS mercy and perhaps some enlightenment.
    "

There is no valid comparison between the two. Abortion is murder of the first order. A totally innocent human being is murdered in the most vile and brutal way imaginable. This is done in many, if not most of the cases, for the convenience of at least one of the parents. Don't toss out that old rabbit trail of rape or incest. That dog don't hunt anymore. The act of water boarding, while very frightening, I am sure, does no real harm other than causing fright. Scaring a few terrorists to protect thousands is trivial compared to abortion. As has been said, 50,000,000 murders is far more evil of the two. Abortion is Satanic. I do not see how this can be debated. Support of abortionists, directly or indirectly is Satanic. For those who have no problem with supporting abortionists, I recommend a study of Hebrews, Chapter 10, followed by a careful reading of Jonathan Edwards sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God". The blood of these precious ones demands justice. Justice will be had at some point in God's time.

    There is no comparison....

Abortion is the taking of innocent blood.... satanic to its core.

Torture is as hard to define as it is to defend.... and rotten even if justified in certain conditions.....

What gets to me.... is ...... what is the definition of torture...? what I may view as torture may be more or less than another person's definition. So maybe the question is who is fit to decide? Does that mean that nothing can be used to enhance or persuade a person to give up information which they have....to try to save or prevent the endangerment of others.... I think there is room for some choice.

On a board of discussion such as this..... what becomes assinine is people's equating personal opinions as Christian behaviors..... when noone has presented proof that Christians were involved in these decisions or behaviors.... or that Christianity was considered to have any recognizable input into the policies which were chosen and carried out by a select group of leadership..... not all of whom could be said to be Christian, even if it were possible to name one or two as being Christian.....

As I have discovered in the discussion on this board.... there is no definitive description even for the act of 'waterboarding'. As carried out by some... it is drowning or near drowning experience of forcing water through tubes into the respiratory passages under pressure..... no doubt that this is torture. As some have presented it..... it is covering the face with a cloth and pouring a few ounces of water over the nose and mouth of a blindfolded person for a few seconds at a time. While the lack of sight and control may scare a person..... this seems highly unlikely to induce any real harm except as a construct of their own weaknesses and phobias. Just how such can become sufficiently persuasive to induce talking is beyond my understanding unless it is also dependant on other factors such as sleep deprivation, or techniques of isolation, etc., designed to exhaust a persons' general resistance and break the will.

And there is no equivalency in comparing torture to the armed protection of one's own family or saving the life of the unborn.

The comparison between waterboarding and abortion is a "No brainer!!!"

If I am waterboarded as a prisoner---------it is done to extract information I may have in my mind----but when the process is ended and I give the necessary information------I am free to return to my jail cell------a little damp, true, but still alive!!!

If I am aborted as a fetus-----its done to extract ME!!!!!---when the process is ended I am dead!!!!!!!

A no brainer----abortion is murder of the innocent---to which Jesus said its better that a millstone be tied around the neck and to be cast into the depths of the sea than to harm the children

So very true. Thank you, SeekingTruth. It is very clear that God has always judged nations on how those nations have treated their innocent. And there is clear scripture in the OT that makes that case.

We should waterboard abortionists, and those who promote abortion.

Abortionists and their supporters ARE terrorists... They terrorize the most innocent amongst us.

God is a God of wrath the same as love.
And one day all these abortionists and their supporters will burn in Hell for their terrorist acts.
