He's on his way to the ME:

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/06/02/obamas_middle_east_trip_a_bala.html?wprss=44

He is planning to meet with the Saudi King of Mecca again. Will he bow again?

Will he plan a quick side trip to Mecca while he is there? Mecca is near Riyadh where he is going.

Will he bow to the leader of Egypt?

Press may not be allowed this time around to record the bow.

Anyway, he is expected to unveil a new Arab-Israeli Peace Plan. Will this be the treaty that is broken after 3-1/2 years?

    Thoughts?

I care, for one. We're still at war. We're in a recession. People are losing jobs, houses, retirement, etc.

And where is BHO? At home, taking care of his country? NOPE. He's too busy buttering up to the middle east.

And before that, he and Michelle lavishly spent $24,000 of taxpayer money for a weekender to Broadway in NYC this weekend. Oh, but our good friend, the Queen of England got an iPod. (Quite telling where priorities lie, IMO)

Wonder if he got the Saudi King and the leader of Egypt iPods. Nah, he's giving them something they really, really want - carving up Israel on a silver platter.

    I also care.

When Obama went to France, all he could do was apologize to them for our arrongance. He could mention one good thing we have done in the past. He didn't even mention anything about how we helped the French overthorw the Nazis out of their country.

When Obama went to Venezula, he kept hanging around Hugo Chavez. I almost thought that Obama was going to get "kissy faced" with him. While at that same event, there was another South American president who went on a 50-minute, anti-American tirade. Obama didn't once try to defend us.

He's also been trying to smooth over Cuba & Iran, like he wants to be friends with them. Name one time that he has actually stood up for us when he has been over seas. He hasn't.

He is supposed to be heading to Germany to visit an old site where a P.O.W. camp used to be. This is where his grandfather helped liberate the prisoners. He is also supposed to be heading to a German city that we bombed during WW2. I have to wonder if he is going to apologize for us doing that.

I hope he doesn't apologize. Its one thing to apologize when you are clearly in the wrong, its a completely different thing to constantly apologize about everything when you are on foreign soil & don't stand up for your country. He needs to grow a backbone & not be so apologetic. So what if the other countries don't like us. apologizing isn't going to change their minds. They will only see our president as weak & pathetic.

So what? How much did Bush's constant jaunts to Crawford cost the taxpayers? You guys grasp at straws to find something to criticize rather than find real issues.

Typically if the President wants to spend any amount of money to go out with his wife I am all for it. They guy has got to be able to do this and let's face it, no matter where he goes it will be expensive just because of security issues alone.

But he has said on several occasions that Americans are going to have to make some tough choices because of the current economic situation. And while generally his going out is appropriate he is not living by the example he calls for others to live by. He is not being the leader he needs to be. It is hard to call for raising taxes, deficit spending, cap-and-trade etc. while he is doing this. Because of the time his trip was inappropriate.

Only weeks ago "bho" declared that the United States was not a Christian country. Now he is apparently bragging that the United states is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.

Is his true faith being revealed?

However, the rich don't ever live like we do. Should Bush be living a pauper's life now too, rather than buying a multimillion dollar home behind a gate in Dallas? These are wealthy folks doing what wealthy folks do. The money is a drop in the ocean. I am concerned about the massive bailout funds, not the president having a mini-vacation.

Bush wasn't telling us to lower our thermostats, and telling us we had to sacrifice.

Mitch brings up a good point. Obama does not walk the walk.

My guess is that somebody dropped a zero off of that $24,000.

It had to be more like $240,000 or more.

How much did that little Air Force One photo op cost again?

The Obama date night weekend in New York would have included additional aircraft for Secret Service and his staff - and any press that got to come along for the ride.

I have heard estimates as high as $1,000,000

But who really knows since the Obama transparency in government apparently doesn't include date nights.

What does that have to do with Obama telling Americans they will have to make sacrifices and then going on dates equaling the annual pay for some Americans? Where are his tough personal choices? Where is his leadership on making tough personal choices? And again his one single date equaled the annual pay for some of those he says needs to make some tough personal choices.

I don't have a problem with him spending $24,000 of his own money on his wife. I'm sure his wife has expensive tastes. Besides, the money he spends, I'm sure will help whoever's business.

I do have a problem with him spending $24,000 of tax payer money on his wife.

The O continues to play the submissive role before the Muslim nations. He touts his Muslim background, recalls hearing the call to prayer by the Muslim, says the Iraqi war was voluntary and hints it was a mistake. He then basically apologizes for the battles in Afghanistan, pleading for understanding on the part of his Muslim audience. Then to top it off, after kowtowing to these ME countries, he insults Israel by not visiting and by saying he (by extension the US, since sadly he is president), has no problem with Iran having nuclear capability, if they abide by the international rules etc. Well when are they going to start. I guess he is okay with North Korea having them. This person is moving full speed in his effort to destroy this country. God Help us.

I am very impressed and proud that we have a President who is a true statesman and diplomat. Rather than getting shoes thrown at him, he is speaking to thunderous applause in the Muslim world.

Those who complain about the President's approach may to well to consider the following: What if God put the right man with the right background to reach out and begin winning the hearts and minds of the next generation in the Middle East away from the extremists and war mongers. Perhaps, in his infinite wisdom, God has given us the leader we need to build a world where America is not viewed as the enemy by young Muslims.

God bless our President on his mission of peace.
