At last there is convincing evidence that Obama’s poll numbers may be descending to earth. While his approval remains high – and his personal favorability is even higher – the underlying numbers suggest that a decline may be in the offing. Even as he stands on his pedestal, the issue numbers under his feet are crumbling.

According to the Rasmussen Poll, more voters now trust Republicans than Democrats to handle the economy by a margin of 45-39. Scott Rasmussen notes that “this is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue.” Last month, he had the Democrats holding a one point lead, but they lost it in June’s polling.

And the Democratic leads over Republicans on their core issues are also dropping. Particularly interesting is the Democratic decline over health care from an 18 point lead in May to only ten points now.

The Gallup Poll also confirms that the president’s personal ratings are high but the underlying data less so. While 67% of voters give Obama personal favorable ratings and 61% approve of his job performance (Rasmussen has his job approval lower, at 55%), they give him much lower ratings on specific issues.

It appears Obama's approval ratings are a bubble which is sure to pop.

It's hard to be very popular when you're fighting a depression as well as two not very popular wars.

I could be mistaken, but I think he may have been meaning that he is trying to keep us from going into a depression.

No Just Chrisitian has been claiming for moths that we are in a depression. Even before his banning.

someone gets banned, and then allowed to come right back to the very same behavior they were banned for with a new name, shouldn't be allowed to happen. how can a christian be this dishonest to do this.

If he is Just Christian, then the moderators and administrators should be ashamed they let him back in. His (Freedom's) posts to date are Just Christian comments warmed over, and thinly disguised.

None of us know if this is the same person or not. More than one person can have similar opinions. Unless there is evidence, this is gossip and accusations. It is pretty easy for the admins to find out.

I'm willing to bet my posting privileges that he is who I say he is. I know it is him, as sure as I know who I am. It's up to the admins to let him in or not, and I have no qualms with a second chance being given, but I'm not going to let him call other people a liar when he's denying this.
