Some say that abortion is legal. ( edited - I meant to say that some think abortion is currently illegal)

    What say you?

Also, do you think a women should be prosuected for the murder of her unborn baby? ( when abortion does become illegal)

An op-ed piece in a anti-abortion publication four years ago vs. the Supreme Court. Hmmmm......

Can't be done...it is not a crime under the law of the USA, and certainly not "murder" under the law.

In Canada, abortion is legal. Just follow the laws as to when an abortion may be done. In a secular society, we are governed by laws whether some Christians like it or not. Murder is defined by those same laws.

Now, when a pregnant mother is killed along with whatever is in her womb, it becomes a double homicide by law.

It is ironic how many Christians will speed down the motorways breaking the law, but cry so hard at a legal process! What a chimera is man. What a contradiction.

    Cheers,

    Jim

We must abide by the laws of this land so long as they do not contradict the law of God. This one does. Those that strive to make abortion legal are correct to do so. It is an abomination, as well as a blight on our so called intellectual society, that we will allow a mother to murder her baby while in the womb but recoil in horror when a mother murders an infant.

Abortion is murder. The Supreme Court was wrong. It should be illegal.

Abortion is not legal. It violates the due process guaranteed by the constitution. the supposed right was invented out of whole cloth by seven black robed men. One wonders how these men will fare before the Judgment Seat of God for their cause of the death of 50 million babies. Even Hitler, Stalin, and Mao can't match that.

You need to read the question properly!
If abortion was to become illegal - then should the mother be prosecuted along with the doctor?

Actually, I agree with you (legally) about abortion not being murder. Murder is the illegal killing of someone. Under the USA laws, it is legal to kill for self-defense and to kill unborn babies. Therefore neither is legally murder.

the word of God always trumps any man made laws, in this instance a person can violate God laws and chose instead man's laws. Whats sad is too many christians chose to violate God's written word, and accept as fact man's.

IF it were to become illegal, then yes, she should be prosecuted for murder. As a matter of fact, theres no staute of limitations on murder, anyone whose ever had an abortion before it becasme legal should be presecuted.
And christians should never agree with laws or husman pratices that violate the word of God.

Usually that would not happen due to "grandfather" clause.

I agree that Gods law is higher than mans law. It may be legal in the US, but in the courtroom of Heaven...

Article from The Easy Reading KJV Evidence Bible by Ray Comfort.

What God’s Word Says About Abortion
    By Lynn Copeland

God speaks very clearly in the Bible on the value of unborn children. God’s Word says that He personally made each one of us, and has a plan for each life:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5).

"Even before I was born, God had chosen me to be His" (Galatians 1:15).

"For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb . . . Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be" (Psalm 139:13, 16). "Your hands shaped me and made me . . . Did You not clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life" (Job 10:8–12).

"This is what the Lord says—He who made you, who formed you in the womb" (Isaiah 44:2).

"Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One form us both within our mothers?" (Job 31:15).

Because man is made in God’s own image (Genesis 1:27), each life is of great value to God: "Children are a gift from God" (Psalm 127:3). He even calls our children His own: "You took your sons and daughters whom you bore to Me and sacrificed them...You slaughtered My children" (Ezekiel 16:20,21). The Bible says of our Creator, "In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being" (Job 12:10). God, the giver of life, commands us not to take the life of an innocent person: "Do not shed innocent blood" (Jeremiah 7:6); "Cursed is the man who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person" (Deuteronomy 27:25). "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Taking the life of the unborn is clearly murder—"He didn’t kill me in the womb, with my mother as my grave" (Jeremiah 20:17)— and God vowed to punish those who "ripped open the women with child" (Amos 1:13).

The unborn child was granted equal protection in the law; if he lost his life, the one who caused his death must lose his own life: "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined . . .But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life" (Exodus 21:22,23). Life is a gift created by God, and is not to be taken away by abortion. God is "prochoice," but He tells us clearly the only acceptable choice to make: "I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19).

    Pretty clear.

    God bless in Jesus.

    Steven.

The term murder is not just a legal term all though some would like to believe that so as to soothe their consciences.

    –verb (used with object)
    4. Law. to kill by an act constituting murder.
    5. to kill or slaughter inhumanly or barbarously.
    6. to spoil or mar by bad performance, representation, pronunciation, etc.: The tenor murdered the aria.

Article I, Section 9 prohibits ex post facto laws. You cannot prosecute for an act that was legal at the time of its occurrence. This is for good reason. What if they made watching TV a capital crime? Most all of us could be sent to death for something that was perfectly legal. Extreme example? Of course, but it illustrates the logic.

"....along with whatever is in her womb"?(emphasis mine)

Just how many choices are there Jim1999? What else could be in a pregnant mother's womb except a baby?

Can't you just say the words "along with her unborn baby"?

Or would such words commit you to acknowledge something more?

    peace to you:praying:

Abortion is murder and that's a fact. Those who support abortion or abortionists are accessory to murder!

when man's law conflicts with God's, then we go according to God's law. No where in God's book are we allowed to murder a child or infant. Those who support it here are going agaisnt the word of God and don't care.

    When does human life begin?
    Is the egg human? No.
    Is the sperm human? No.
Is a sperm and an egg human? No. Not as long as these are separate entities.

Well, when does human life begin? When an egg and sperm unite.
This is meant to take place within the habitat in which it is meant to florish and grow. (This puts in question the morality and ethics of invitro fertilization...... which many childless couples turn to as a last and possible hope.)

If the beginning of human life begins when the sperm and egg unite, then any end of that life is death to a human being after life has begun. Abortion is a man created and unnatural end of human life. If it is not being done to save a mother's life which is endangered by the improper placement of the placenta or the baby, then it is murder.

Not all killing is murder but all murder involves a kill: Killing to preserve life is justifiable homicide, but intentional killing as a deliberate act just to end life is murder. Human life is protected by law against unjustified killing..... and is usually prosecuted. Since human life begins with the fertilized egg...... isn't any unnatural interference which ends this life at any point on..... though the life of the individual, subject to protection of law and prosecution? The most elementary knowledge of biology should tell us this.... and unlike the "O", who felt the question was 'above his pay grade'...... well, what about common sense and normal intelligence?
