how sad...if this had anything to do with an affair, "be sure your sin will find you out"

Sad news. He was a great quarterback. What a shame to have his and the woman's life cut so short.

    Agreed on all counts!

Steve McNair was one of the 'toughest' quarterbacks I ever saw play the game as to taking tough hits (because he would also run and hit like a tough fullback, when necessary), and playing with injuries and pain.

Midstate media reports initially called this a murder-suicide, then quickly backed away. But now, word is it will be ruled a murder-suicide.

Sad story all around. The 20 yr old lady was obviously having an affair with McNair. She was called somewhat mentally unstable by an ex-lover. And her mother was murdered just over ten years ago.

More has come out. The couple were stopped in Nashville going 20 over the speed limit. The young woman admitted to being high. McNair has had brushes with poilce before with DUI. And one media outlet reported that McNair was threatened by someone claiming that he had given her a date rape drug.

You can't argue with what McNair did on the field. He was a warrior who loved the game of football and turned down a contract offer from the Mariners (I believe) out of HS to play football. However, one wonders if this sordid end to his life, should this shake out eventually to where it's heading, will diminish his stature in the NFL, tarnish a reputation as a charity man, and damage his chances at Canton.

But all that's secondary to the fact that people are hurting right now due to the loss of these two people. Two sets of families and friends are grieving right now.
