This time from Oklahoma. Senator Tom Coburn used a fake Spanish accent to mock Judge Sonya Sotomayor. More HERE.

    I saw that exchange.

There nothing to report. They injected a little humor and PC fanatic liberals are bouncing off the wall.

She is the one that has made her race an issue with her rulings and her public statements. Perhaps she is just reaping what she sowed.

But you go ahead and be upset if you're having a slow day.

    From the article.

Coburn, along with U.S. Jim Inhofe, who is known for his own outrageous comments about global warming, continue to draw strong support from the local corporate media here. This is tragic. Both Senators consistently damage the state’s image, but the local media barely pays attention. Instead, it consistently cheers them on.

There ya have it Carpro. The author is upset that Inhofe and Coburn would dare to call the global warming liars, liars and even get media support for not backing up the liars hero of heros the lying liar Al Gore. Must really sting.

This doesn't change the fact that Sotomayor is a racist. And this doesn't make Coburn a racist, either.

Not his brightest day, perhaps, but he's no racist.

You mean like when Lord Barry pronounces Spanish names with an affected Spanish accent? Or more like the time Joe Biden told a guy in a wheelchair to stand up so everybody could get a look at him?

Well, I was thinking more of things that actually happened and not internet rumors, but in any event, my point was never that Republicans don't do or say stupid things, but that BOTH SIDES do.

Are you capable of understanding that this is not a Republican vs Democrat thing, but that both sides are exactly the same?

Honestly, until you grow up and realize that and stop playing these stupid "us against them" games, you're never going to be a part of the solution.

I find it very sad that you are so in the bag for your party that you can't even comprehend the idea that anyone on your side can do any wrong.

Apparently you don't see it. You took offense at the Bush comment. No net rumor either. Here it is for your enlightenment.

My point was exactly that you can find this on both sides. Your offense shows it is YOU who can dish it out, but don't like it when your party's flaws are pointed out.

    The problem is consistency

When a Dem says a blurb - it passed over as a slip of the tongue

When a Rep says a blurb - it it a major catastrophe.

    example
Judge Sotomay say that Latino women are (better then white males)
answer - you took it out of context....

Trent Lott says of Strom Thurman "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had of followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either"

Answer: dismissed as Senator Majority leader

Lets see - Thurman is only 1 of a body of 100 of which must have concurence of the other body.

Sotomay will be 1 of 9 of which is the final authority.

    Who holds more power?

And I'll bet you never even heard about Christopher Dodd saying similar things about Robert Byrd, did you?

When Trent Lott said it, he was evil and had to be run out of town on a rail. When Chris Dodd said it, NADA.

How about when Bill Clinton praised Orville Faubus? The Democrats would have raised Hell if a Republican had said the things he said.

No, I didn't take offense. I'm not a Bush defender. I just want both sides represented accurately and evenly.

When you say "your party", exactly which party are you referring to? I'm really curious to know because, as far as I know, I don't belong to any party.

Or are you of the mind that if someone disagrees with Democrats, then they must be Republicans by default? By that logic, wouldn't I also be a Democrat, since I'm such a vocal and consistent critic of the Republicans?

Not ironic Snow, just beyond your pay grade. However, if things get to tight try a glycerin stick at each end. They are connected you know. Think about it for a while!
