A tax policy analyst from The Heritage Foundation says Massachusetts can provide an example of what Obama's healthcare reform can bring to America.

Boston Medical Center has sued the state of Massachusetts over the state's universal healthcare system. According to The New York Times, the 626-bed hospital -- which is the primary teaching facility for Boston University School of Medicine -- faces a $38 million deficit and will lose close to $100 million more in the coming year. Hospital officials say the shortfall is due to the state's universal healthcare system which forces them to cover the healthcare costs of poor people. Another factor is that the state has lowered its Medicaid reimbursements.

Curtis Dubay is with The Heritage Foundation. "I think that what's going on in Massachusetts is a good example of what will happen at the national level," he shares. "The cost savings that President Obama and Congress are promising simply won't materialize."

When has the government ever SAVED money? Some will point to Clinton, but his "surplus" was on paper only- and as defined by the CBO at the time.

Let charitable organizations take care of charity and keep the government out of it.

Get off their butts and work! The government contributes to the problem of the "poor" and just wants to keep them in (dare I say it?) the SLAVERY OF WELFARE.

There is no compassion in enslaving a nation.

Yep, keep them hooked on entitlements and the thought that they actually deserve them and you will keep them voting for you (dependent on big brother). Sad thing is that there are actually hard working idiots out there who support this in the name of compassion. They are bigger suckers than those stuck in welfare line suckling at the government's udder. Last time I checked a compassionate person enables people to work and to make a living for themselves. It does not breed an entitlement slave mentality.

Health care for the poor? Find out why they are poor and help them to find better jobs. Oh wait, we can't do that cause all the manufacturing jobs were sent overseas!

See healthcare is only a symptom of bad trade agreements and the lack of regulation that has been going on in this country for decades. Bring back the jobs and healthcare will slowly take care of itself with only a few changes to the regulations that govern it.

What sorts of regulations? Well, first off we need to stop forcing hospital to treat indigent, illegal aliens. If you ask any hospital in Alabama what its biggest drain it, you'll find that it is the cost of indigent care especially the care of illegal aliens.

Two, we need to fix the regulations governing insurance companies to stop them from denying insurance to those having pre-existing conditions and from dropping patients who are "too expensive".

Three, there should be "national" or "state" insurance groups for those persons to join if a) they don't have access to ins. through their employer or b) had rather pay the premiums for the national/state ins. There is no reason why individuals should have to pay extra for "individual" coverage when there are sooo many individuals who need insurance. Throw them all into a group that best suits their needs and be done.

    Anyhow, just my two cents.
