Senate Democratic leaders on Thursday abandoned plans for a vote on health care before Congress' August recess, dealing a blow to President Barack Obama's ambitious timetable to revamp the nation's $2.4 trillion system of medical care.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., delivered the official pronouncement, saying, "It's better to have a product based on quality and thoughtfulness rather than try to jam something through."

Baloney they could not get it through or else they would have most certainly jammed it through like they have done everything else. Reid is so full of garbage his breath stinks all the way down here.

Maybe at least a few "lawmakers" will get the opportunity to actually read the bills to see what's in them, while they're on recess.

Maybe even Obama will get a chance to find out what he is so anxious to sign into law. :tonofbricks:

And the details should get reported to public. Fox will be about the only one to make an attempt.

Actually, at least based on all the referenced bills I saw in the porkulous bill, they would have to have a copy of half the legislation passed in the last 50 years or so in order to read it.

What? You seem to portray the Democrats as a monolith. What is going on?

I agree that this needs to be thought through...not the fact that we need universal care, but that it should be a good plan, not one rushed through without enough consideration.
