What seems frustrating to me is that congress will most likely put in place a "universal health care system" and that it will be based on the laws and current medicare items. Which means terrible taxes to the individual taxpayer. It seems like the legislature wants to remake the wheel. I personally think something needs to be done about health care however its a closed system and prices will continue to rise. Universal Health care is not the solution yet its going to happen. Now since its going to happen why not look at this thing pragmaticly? There are other countries that have implemented and are currently using such systems in their countries. Why can't we use them as a "model" find flaws, tweak them to fit our needs and keep cost down? Because just like every other socialistic idea this country incorporates causes high cost and low provision. Comparison dollar for dollar we get less bang for our tax buck than the europeans. So we'll end up with bad health care at a greater cost than Europeans. Whats up with that! The legislature all are sitting on their thumbs. No one really has the countries best interest at heart save those of us who have to live with it.

ummm....no! We will fight it tooth and nail and work to tear it down once the Dems are out of office. Socialism should never allowed to stand under any circumstances.

I didn't understand why the AARP supported the latest Medicare revision until the AARP ads for add-on insurance showed up on TV.

AARP NEVER gives financial info to the members which is why I quit. Should demand copies of their IRS reports but I'm to lazy.

The fact is that its going to happen. No matter our feelings on the issue. Since its going to happen. We must take a look at proper implementation which I suppose should be a conserted effort to study systems already in place. But what will happen is that we'll pass the legislation at a significant cost to the country and provide less options then anywhere else it is tried. Note that this system will be used to fill the pockets of those who are already corrupting the system.

"We" do not need to take a look at anything other than its complete defeat.

I don't see that happening. Our country has already implemented socialist agendas.

    One can hope anyway.

Once the insurance industry is destroyed it may not be so easy to bring back companies to sell health insurance policies.

Many insurance companies sell multiple lines of insurance. If the health insurance business is destroyed by the Obama plan it will affect our home, car, work comp, general liability, disablility insurance markets as well.

What about people who bought annuities from insurance companies for their retirement. When the insurance companies are driven out of business who will compensate them for their lost investments?

Don't look like you'll have to. It appears the Blue Dogs dismantled the legislation before it ever went for a vote. I guess the insurance companies and special interest paid them enough to deny 72% of American's what they want.

Oh well, more politics as usual.

If you look at polling over history you will find that America never vote in Republican's, they vote out the democrats. It is not that they want the Republican's in charge, it is times like these when they feel betrayed by the democrats so they vote them out.
