During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill.

“I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,’” said Conyers.

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”

The dumbocrats must feel pretty secure in their positions to be so honest about not caring about the American people and what they subject us to in their quest for more power.

    What a stupid statement!

He should take the two days and get the two lawyers.

    It is his responsibility.

Why would anyone be surprised at Conyers statement? Of course the Dems don't want any body to read it. They know if we the people read it, we will learn what damage it will do to this country. This would completely disrupt the O's plan to socialize the entire nation.

It could be that Conyers doesn't know how to read and is making excuses to cover it up.

    Would anyone be surprised?

Actually anyone who has ever tried to read some of that trash would understand why the need for lawyers. It is unintelligible to most people and half of the trash refers to previous legislation. I saw a former Republican senator on TV the other night who said that only the lobbyists could understand legislation.

Then if a lawmaker does not know what he is voting for he should either vote against it to maintian the status quo or resign office because he is not capable or willing to do his job.

Voting is the absolute rock bottom responsiblity of their elected positions.

Junkets and sound bites seem to be all that they are interested in.
