I think the video was straightforward and very clear. No one is lying hear Rev except well.....

The bottom line is that the US healthcare system is a real mess. Its needed fixin for a long time. Only vested interests of health care are against reform because it will slow the gravy train(the rippoffs). The others who are against it are the ignorant.

 

fixing the health care system has nothing to do with raising taxes, forcing people to pay for insurance, people losing jobs because employers can't afford them anymore because of forced health insurance, and poor health care same as every other government run health care in the world. want to see a total failure of health care? you will, when the government takes over from our doctors and tells us what prescriptions and procedures we can have and leave our doctors out of the health care loop.

I keep seeing unsubstantiated claims. On another thread, I posted excerpts from an article by a Stanford University med school professor. As of yet, the knee-jerk statists refuse to deal with any of the facts mentioned.

"Shinning," how 'bout dealing with those ten points I posted? Almost all of them deal with the shortcomings in the Canadian system. How about refuting the claims, if you can??

It is already happening to some degree in the Prescription Drug Program of Medicare.

 

It will interesting to see what happens to the quality of health care in Canada should Obama etal succeed in remaking the U.S. system.

I imagine that the real but obscured shortcomings in the Canadian system would soon come to light to the average Canadian citizen once the U.S. is no longer picking up the slack.

 

And Americans don't go outside the US? It was mentioned on one of the threads that a friend of one of members here went to India for an operation that cost 1/6 then in the US. Hundreds of Canadians, and hundreds probally thousands of Americans travel outside their countries for medical treatment for whatever reason. Low finances, long waits, experimental drugs and services. When your dying.........you will go anywhere.

 

One anecdotal story doesn't say much.

What is without question is that the Canadian system makes sending Canadians to the U.S. for medical services - paid for by the Canadian system - part of the Canadian system.

It was an admission from the start that the Canadian system does not have the capacity, resources, expertise or equipment to meet the medical needs of it's citizens.

When Canada no longer has the U.S. to fall back on to supplement their system the true extent of the shortcomings will become painfully obvious to Canadians in medical need.

 

It is lying to represent a speech made over a year ago as a candidate, as the President's current policy. Obviously there have been changes and compromises in order to try to get a workable plan in place. No doubt, there will be more. He may personally still prefer a single-payer system, but that may not fly at this juncture.

 

It would be incredibly naive, and bordering on stupid, to believe he doesn't.
