For all the celebrating about GOPers getting caught in sex scandals, here is a good-ole-fashioned democrat doing what democrats do, making themselves rich sticking up for the little guy.

A federal court jury in Alexandria, Va., deliberated for five days before finding Mr. Jefferson, 62, a New Orleans Democrat who served in Congress for 18 years until being defeated in 2008, guilty of 11 of 16 counts of bribery-related crimes. The jurors thus rejected defense assertions that Mr. Jefferson’s business-promotion activities in Africa did not qualify as “official acts” under public corruption laws.

There is nothing that outpaces the blind hatred the right feels for the left and vice versa.

I don't trust politicians, why are we suprised when they...of all parties...act accordingly?

It's not blind hatred. We see exactly what's going on. The left wants to destroy liberty. I hate that with a perfect hatred. They're God's enemies. The left, on the other hand, hates Christ and conspire against the LORD and His Annointed.

    Please clarify "blind hatred".

I agree, it's not blind hatred; it's focused hatred. Big difference.

BTW, I'm glad Jefferson finally had his day in court even though he is guilty.

Bravo, and three cheers. Both parties are destroying liberty, and those that advance the myth that one is doing us a favor over the other is keeping this nation in an endless cycle of moving away from the Constitution. All of them, everyone Washington politician, should be locked up for destroying the very document our nation is founded on.

Yeah, I hate that he's a tax & spend liberal, saying people like me gotta do more than our share, and then gets caught in a scam like this.

You know when I graduated from college and did my summer internship in my congressman's office I was absolutely convinced the Republicans were great, God loving, Christ honoring people and the Democrats were horrible, God hating, America bashing people.

Then I went and worked on the Hill for three months. Everything changed.

I remember sitting with some influential leaders in the RNC one day as we were discussing upcoming legislation. They began to laugh and ridicule evangelicals and were openly dismissive of an evangelical viewpoint. In so many words they noted that the RNC had one leg up on the Democrats in that they had most every evangelical denomination in their hip pocket.

Then I went to their conferences and regular summer activities. There was just as much drunkenness, debauchery, and immoral activity in them as any where else. There were other events that went on throughout the summer and I was happy to head off , away from that mess.

All that to say, we're being foolish if we think that evil is represented in one political party and not the other. Where is the thread about Ted Stevens or about John Ensign or about Duke Cunningham or about Mark Foley or about Tom Delay or about Larry Craig?

Where are they? Do we really think that Democrats are the only party with corruption and liars and adulterers and theives? Really?

Nope but they are the ones who campaigned on the "culture of corruption" in the GOP in 06. There is no error or hypocrisy in pointing that out.

Better a debauched ruler who limits government than one who won't.
