    That would be my thought.
I think the nonbaptist poster in the baptist forums are newbies.

Does the Board call for a membership in a Baptist Church, or just the fact that one is a Baptist?

I know, under the old Board, I was accepted as a Baptist even though I attended an Anglican Church at the time.

Baptist Church can cover a whole lot of things including a modernistic Baptist! We even had a few of those as members here, and maybe we still do.

Baptist used to mean something a few years ago, but I see it all over the place these days.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Donna: Jim was given special dispensation because it was too far for him to drive to a Baptist church (correct me if I'm wrong Jim).

The newbies who are posting there and are non-Baptist are posting there because the mods in those forums haven't bothered to check their profiles and take the time to PM them the rules.

I hesitate to step into someone else's forum and do anything because I have been censored for it.

Just hit the 'report' button and advise them of the names. They are probably not aware.

Or PM the names to me and I'll see what I can do.

True. Besides, anyone reading my posts will not question my absolute Baptist thinking and beliefs.

Well, some may question me, but I have been questionable all my life.

I don't travel outside my village anymore or the authorities may ban me from driving altogether. I think the bend a little every two years as I am retested!

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,
we may differ on some areas, but I have never thought of you as anything other than a baptist and a christian brother.

    I agree...you're so Baptist it's skeery!

As for others, I would have to hope there would be no exceptions. Seen one too many who was a wolf in sheep's clothing. I've always tried to view this board as a safe haven, to talk to other Christians of the Baptist persuasion and be able (to a degree) to trust what I'm learning from others about Baptist doctrine.

BTW, does Baptist doctrine have no end? LOL I find out more and more and more and more...

there are now 3 non baptists posting in the general baptist (baptist only) forum. rules are for looks and nothing more apparently, since no one is enforcing them here.

While I consider my self to be a Southern Baptist, I don't see why non-Baptists are not permitted to make posts in the Baptist forum. What if there is a non-Baptist that is considering becoming one? What if they have questions about what the difference is between Baptists & their denomination? I think non-Baptists should be permitted to make posts where ever. I also believe Baptists should be allowed to make posts in the other denomination section as well. That's kind of how we learn about each other.

Although I will admit, I can be close minded, hard-nosed, & judgemental at times.

Becasue it's the owners rules, he owns it, makes the rules we agree too when we join. You expect people to obey your rules when they'er in your house don't you? Well, so does the owner of this house we're all visiting.
Actually back when i joined we didn't have to clcik and say we agreed to the rules like peopel have to do now.

I know its the rules. I guess what my question is: Why is that rule in place?

I always try to be respectful when I'm over at someone else's house at all times & not to violate rules. I never thought of the Baptist Board as a house. I have always viewed it as a forum where people can exchange their views & try to learn something from others, whether we agree with them or not.

Becasue it's "THE BAPTIST BOARD" If anyone could post in any forum it wouldn't be a baptist board. Prehaps what you prefer is a board for any denomination, nothing specific, like baptist. This board is for baptists to discuss baptist doctrines, and churches and our life and being baptists.
