Bible on iPhone

    I notice that both the ESV Study Bible and the Reformation Study Bible can be used in the iPhone and iPod Touch. I have both of them, and so far I am satisfied.

    Do any of you have one of them or something similar. I have the feeling that a Study Bible on the cell phone is fun to use first, but that it might not be used in the long run.

    I've got an iPhone, and use a bible app. It lets you choose your version of choice, including foreign language versions. You can bookmark and forward verses as well. I now use my iPhone exclusively at church on Sundays.

    Youversion is a great thing. I use it all the time.

    I also use the ESV listed above. Great resources! :D

    To use the iPhone in church would be very useful. Guess I have to check if I can get a Swedish version so I can follow the preacher. I have not yet seen a Sweish edition.

    I use a couple. I use the NKJV Olive Tree - it is the smoothest for navigation. It is free for KJV but there is a slight cost for NKJV, ESV, etc. I also have Strong's Concordance (KJV) and Youversion for when I am online.

    I am growing to use it more and more.

    I believe Youversion has a swedish translation.

    I do not know what that means but I have youversion on my blackberry. On it there are multiple versions available.

    I can explain. If you go to the section of the app that allow you to select your desired translation, you will see not only most of the common English translations, but also several foreign ones. Among those is the Swedish-language "Svenska 1917" translation.

    When I read your post I, for some reason, thought your were saying " it is a Swedish version" rather than " it has a Swedish version. :BangHead:Don't ask me why I will just go ahead and admit to being a knucklehead. But the one I have only has English translations.

    I have Olive Tree's NKJV on my HTC Touch Pro. It is easy to use.

    I use Olivetree on my Nokia e71. I have downloaded a few different programs but Olive Tree is the best. Of course I did pay $15 for the ESV so you do get what you pay for.

    I do use it a lot in church actually.

    I don't think it will ever replace a paper bible altogether but it actually could if you needed to.
    I like it because now I always have my bible with me.

    Seems that the Youversion is not avaliable in the Swedish iTunes. I see what I can do with Olivetree, if I can get a Swedish version of the Bible.

    So, after an hour or so I have both the, Folkbibeln and Bibel 2000 Swedish translations downloaded on iPod Touch. I see that a there is also commentary and even Grudems systemetic theology availible.

    I also found maps to the iPhone. Looks like I have more information in my iPod Touch, than there is in a regular Study Bible.

    My bride has more than one English version on her phone, and there are several more to be had for a small fee.

    Don't ask me what versions are available, as I only use printed copies of the Bible, except to quote from on the Baptist Board, where I will often use Biblegateway or studylight.
