Politics and the rule of law

In order for the the rule of law to be in effect, all three branches of government must be in agreement. It requires a legislative body to write the law, a judicial body to apply the law, and an executive body to enforce the law. If there is disagrement in any of those branches, then the rule of law cannot be adequately applied.

For example, if a law exists that says a black man and white man can't walk on the same side of the street, a court will strike it down as being invalid. If an antiquated law exists that fornids the selling of ice cream on Sundays, the police will probably refuse to enforce it. In these examples, the rule of law cannot be applied, because there is no agfeement between the branches of government.

 

The case isn't yet closed on torture. The investigation you speak off was more of a theatrical trailer than a real investigation. A government investigating itself is never going to find itself guilty. Especially a corrupt one. What reason do you have to believe differently?

Illegal immigration? This has been explained many times before but I'll explain it again.

Why do democrats feel that their guy can ignore the law and do whatever he pleases? I dunno, probably the same reason republicans feel their guys can ignore the laws and do whatever they please.

They don't have a very firm grasp on reality. What is reality? The government is corrupt and has been hijacked by the global money interests who own and control practically all the major information centers.

They control reality or the illusion of it anyway.

Once people understand this they might just stop pointing their fingers at each other and blame the real culprits for our problems. Yeah, I know I got high hopes.

 

>What areas do you see a contradiction by any party with regards to the rule of law?

SECRET signing statements and SECRET executive orders! It is pointless to discuss rule of law when we don't know what the laws are, Congress doesn't know what the laws are, and the judges don't know what the laws are.

 

They all know the constitution is the law, they just don't like it because it put's limits on their powers.
