Former first lady Laura Bush praised the performance of her husband's successor Monday, breaking with many Republicans in telling CNN that she thinks President Obama is doing a good job under tough circumstances.

    Full story HERE

She also bemoans the current excessive partisanship plaguing America.

It's possible to respect the former first lady and disagree with her opinion (he said as he held his breath).

I have always held that Laura has lots of class. She is right on concerning excessive partisanship. And, so far, I feel she is correct on the current administration. However, it is early yet and time will tell us more.

It would be interesting to contrast Mrs Bush's response to questions about Obama and Mrs Obama's response to similar questions about President Bush. In fact Obama still trashes President Bush every chance he gets, something President Bush never did to Clinton.

Any evidence of this? All I have heard is the fact that he inherited the current economic mess. That is not trashing Bush.

Laura Bush is a gracious lady and a sterling example of how a first Lady should conduct herself. I don't remember her saying anything bad about anybody else, nor her country.

    Michelle Obam should take heed.

Obama will be blaming President Bush for his failure throughout his term. The democrats used the Great Depression for 60 years against the Republican candidates. Gore tried to use it against President Bush in 2000. It is only now being discussed that Roosevelt prolong the depression by his stupid tax and spend policies until WWII came along and he got us involved.

Obama is using the same tactics, but this time with the intent to drive the country into bankruptcy. 40% of every dollar spent in the next ten years will have to be borrowed. Who in the would has that kind of money and is stupid enough to lend it to the US?

I will say it again. Perhaps you can understand it the second time! Even if I pulled it out of my hat that is a better end than where you pull your "trash talk".

McCain and Palin would have done what differently? How would they have done it differently?

THEY are not on the same team as Bush and Obama?
If not, then how did they get nominated? That was the one election that the team owners could not fix?

For one thing they would not have passed a $700 billion pork bill with all the leftist goodies in it. Next they would not attempt to convert the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America. Obama indicated during the campaign that was his intention. Even Joe the Plumber was sufficiently astute to understand that. Unfortunately the Marxist Billionaires Club led by George Soros spent enough money to overcome anyones perception about Marxist Obama.

Just because Bush may not be a conservative (which he isn't) doesn't necessarily make him a liberal (which he isn't). Unfortunately, there aren't just (2) stops on the political spectrum, as simple as that would be. Bush probably falls somewhere in the middle (which in many ways is actually worse), as his signing of TARP illustrates.

When will we learn that fence riding is not a sign of intellegence or wisdom. Rather it is an inablilty to live within a core set of values/principles that are defined by a clear worldview.
