Sunday school, then morning worship. It's probably scheduled that way because that's the way they've always done it, and it would (gasp) go against tradition to change it.

We have two services with Sunday School during the service:

Nursery from birth through 2 years 3 months is during the whole service.
Sunday School for 2 years 3 months through Kindergarten is during the whole service.
Sunday School for 1st through 8th grades and for the special needs adults is after worship and the pastoral prayer then through the rest of the service.

All Sunday School teachers/nursery workers are to attend the service that they do not teach at.

Classes for adults are held on Wednesday nights and a few other nights/Saturday morning as needed.

    Sunday School then Worship Service.

I Traditions 3:1-10 tells us to.

We celebrate over a hundred years of tradition completely unimpeded by progress.

We cancelled SS and challenged the parents to teach their children in the home the truths that were being taught in SS.

Our focus is on reaching the kids in the neighbourhood who are unchurched. This is on a week-night rather than Sunday.

Remember, that SS was originally started for that very purpose. To reach the children outside of the church with the gospel. Not to take the place of what Christian parents ought to be teaching their kids in the home in the first place. It is appalling that very often the same Christian parents who are absolutely insistent on having a SS, when asked, will admit to hardly ever taking the time to teach the Bible to their own kids! Having abrogated their own God-given responsibilities, they feel they are now free to blame the church if it doesn't take up the challenge and produce spiritual kidlets for the mommies and daddies.

We believe worship is a family affair. We want whole families together in our worship services. The church was never intended to be a religious 'day-care' center.

At my church we have Sunday School, then Worship Service. Our church has always done it this way, and probably always will.

We have two worship services with SS at the same times

We actually have three services with Sunday School (we call it something different) scheduled at all three times. But this was the closest answer I could find. :)

We have a lot of people on campus on Sunday. We also have different worship styles in our services. Our Sunday Bible Fellowships try to connect with people in conjunction to their preferred worship style.

From a organization standpoint we believe this works best for us. We thought about doing groups off campus but it didn't work for us. We have some groups that meet throughout the week (usually on campus) for our people who are serving on Sundays. Sunday is our primary (and best) time to connect with people. :)

    We have SS then Worship

When I am preaching, I do not want to be rushed to finish a message or service so we can start SS on time.

When our church gets so big, that we need two services, then its time to start a new church plant, then there will be plenty of room for newcomers.

Using the term Sunday School dates you. I rarely hear this in my Church and when I do it is usually a senior citizen. We are politically and I guess "spiritually" correct now and refer it as "bible study".

The original Sunday School was completely separate to any church building and included academics for the urchins of East London.

All during my ministry in Canada, the Sunday School was held before the Morning Worship service.

    Cheers,

    Jim

After 1st hymn and prayer, and before the announcements at the morning (11.00a.m.) service, the youngsters go out with their teachers to the schoolroom for Sunday school. They are collected by parents/grandparents from the school room at the end of morning service.

My old church which I maintain contact with has three services, but Sunday school at two of the services.

My new church which I am attending does not have SS, but has small groups.

Sunday School then church for us as well.

Sunday school for us is often more practical application for various ages and then the service for all.

As for having multiple services to cater to different worship styles, it is sinful disunity in the body of Christ if there are multiple groups that will not worship together due to music style.
