I am reminded of a joke:

How do you know when a politician is telling a lie? His lips are moving!

    Now for the reality:

I think Rep. Wilson was saying what many American citizens are believing -- that the President has lied to us before about certain things, and is probably lying about the health care reforms.

That Rep. Wilson said it out loud during the President's speech was NOT appropriate, but that he SAID it echos well in the citizen's minds. We are tired of hearing President Obama say one thing while doing another. We are tired of the excess spending, when saving would work better. We are tired of him cowtowing to the dictators of the world, instead of defending the United States. We are tired of ILLEGAL non-citizens getting better treatment than we who work hard for a living. We are tired of the "change" that has all been for the worse! And we are tired of the Senators and Representatives that we elected refusing to listen to us as we tell them how we feel and believe.

We are also tired of a supposed Christian doing everything he can to bolster the killers of our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in countries such as Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. We are tired of the murder of unborn children in abortion clinics, which our President totally supports, no matter how many times he lies and says otherwise.

Have you gotten the picture yet? American Christians, regardless of their ethnic background, should be ashamed of their support of evil from ANY source. That includes support of adulterous governors, lying Senators and Representatives, and, yes, even a lying President. We should be standing for the Truth and for all things good. We should NOT be cutting each other down, but we should be working together to prove the love God has for all of us. We should NOT be accusing each other of being racists, but working hard to eliminate racism. (BTW, it has been my experience that those who most often accuse someone of racism, are in fact worse rasicts than the accused. I am NOT accusing, I am just stating my experiences).

Have you heard that the Congressional Budget Office has stated that the House Health Care Reform bill would cost 9 trillion dollars over the next 10 years? We cannot afford such a bill! Yet it contains everything President Obama has stated he wants! How do you think we will pay for it? By borrowing more money from China and other countries who do NOT want us to succeed!

Thanks for letting me rant! Perhaps others will start thinking about what they are doing and saying to each other, repent, and work together for the Lord!

    Bill :godisgood:

Are you sure? How do you know this?

I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure I saw an obese Mexican once.

Do you have some sort of fancy two-way monitor or something?

Quick - what color is my shirt?

Hmmm... I think that we are now getting to the real source of all your anger.

Yes, that is exactly what we need. More people coming into the U.S. illegally and having many children.

Cool your jets, at the rate things are going, the U.S. will ultimately belong to illegal Mexicans. Of course by that time it will no longer be the same U.S. and won't be all that discernable from the real Mexico.

I have a news flash for you. What made the U.S. the country that it is/was/soon-won't-be is hard working self reliant citizens.

The government cannot give you or do for you more than you can do for yourself. Once the number of free loaders out-number the producers the system will fail under it's own weight.

Obama has decided to speed up the timetable.

And you speak for all Latinos? My daughter's boyfriend is a Latino and his father (and himself as of next year) will continue to vote Republican - so you're wrong.

Well here is one fat republican sitting in front of my computer... But won't be for long...

    1) I am on a diet
    2) I am planning on switching to "Independent" by next election
    3) I am going to visit a Latino this morning that had a baby boy 2 days ago.

This young lady and her husband are part of our Hispanic Bible Study that we have started, and I absolutely love their family. I may even stop by another Latino family's house and invite them to our church's picnic this Sunday. I have taken money out of my pocket to help Hispanics.. .I am on the ground, and see the hardships many have.
And there are a lot. If you want to help Latinos, sign up to tutor an ESL class, like I am.

So before you judge all Republicans by a loudmouth in SC... stop and think...

"I know a fat republican on Baptistboard that actually cares for Hispanics."

Also, don't fall for the hype from either party. They know the Latino vote is powerful, and they will say anything to get it.

For instance... I know a Democrat that said to me last month, "I don't care to minister to Hispanics or help them anyway I can, as long as they are here legally... but if they are not, they can go back home!"... And this was after I was telling them about a family with children that was being deported.. and the children only knows American life.. (They came here as babies, and are now in 5-6 grade, and straight "A" Students) When they are deported, they will have to go to a part of Honduras that is nothing but homes built in Trash heaps... literally. The family is now working to become legal. (Which is what they should have done to begin with)... but didn't... Now little kids will pay the price for their parent's stupidity... And I love those little kids... they are sweet, bright, and loving... and IF they get sent to the trash heaps of Honduras, America will be losing some very good assets.

And this was a Democrat that didn't care!... See.. you can't judge fairly, because you don't know all hearts.

So before you judge this fat Republican.. .please rethink.

To the OP, Congressman Wilson not only demeaned himself, he showed ignorance, and disgraced the voters of his district and state. They should send this buffoon packing and the House should censure him.

The outburts in question reflect the frustration that many Americans feel. However, it was in poor taste, and not the appropriate forum. An appropriate response would have been to boo that portion of the speech.

What you say has nothing to do with Rep. Wilsons remark. He simply said that Obama was lying about providing health care for illegals. He was correct. They intend to provide health care for illegals, regardless of the country of origin.

He is not my representative but I plan to send him a campaign contribution! He just voiced what at least half of Americans now believe. Obama is a liar, and a pathological one at that.

Not true at all. You are operating under the same error as Mr. Wilson.

    From HERE

False: Illegal Immigrants Will Be Covered
One Republican congressman issued a press release claiming that "5,600,000 Illegal Aliens May Be Covered Under Obamacare," and we’ve been peppered with queries about similar claims. They’re not true. In fact, the House bill (the only bill to be formally introduced in its entirety) specifically says that no federal money would be spent on giving illegal immigrants health coverage:
H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
Also, under current law, those in the country illegally don’t qualify for federal health programs. Of interest: About half of illegal immigrants have health insurance now, according to the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center, which says those who lack insurance do so principally because their employers don’t offer it.

    Actually MP is technically right...

They may be required to buy insurance, but will not be given the credits, to buy it with.

BUT... some of their healthcare will be covered.. Just as they are now...

They can go to the ER.. and taxpayers foot the bill.

More likely we all pay through higher costs. But what are ya gonna do? You cannot let someone suffer or die, regardless of immigration status. They are still people. I say treat 'em and deport 'em.

To those who are accusing me of being a troll , accusing me of being robert snow(i think that is his name) and those accusing me of being alitide, you are being paranoid I am Xavier Zapata. Again I am not a troll, I am a fellow believer who has seen Latinos treated badly by extremist whites and right wing religion, again these are hard working people who mow your yards, feed you in restaurants, build your roads, take care of your kids. I will let robert snow and alitide speak for themselves all I have to say is people can get paranoid if you do not parrot their views and lash out and accuse you of being someone else they hate, that is not right and is unfair.

Does anyone see any contradiction in the following by factcheck? Medicare benefits will not be slashed even though Medicare payout will be reduced by $500 billion over 10 years. Factcheck apparently reasons like some on this Forum.

    http://www.factcheck.org/2009/08/seven-falsehoods-about-health-care/

"False: Medicare Benefits Will Be Slashed
The claim that Obama and Congress are cutting seniors’ Medicare benefits to pay for the health care overhaul is outright false,
though that doesn’t keep it from being repeated ad infinitum.

The truth is that the pending House bill extracts $500 billion from projected Medicare spending over 10 years, as scored by the Congressional Budget Office, by doing such things as trimming projected increases in the program’s payments for medical services, not including physicians. Increases in other areas, such as payments to doctors, bring the net savings down to less than half that amount. But none of the predicted savings – or cuts, depending on one’s perspective – come from reducing current or future benefits for seniors."

PLease tell me how the phrase "The outburts in question reflect the frustration that many Americans feel. However, it was in poor taste, and not the appropriate forum. An appropriate response would have been to boo that portion of the speech." is unfair.
