Is man the potter and God's words the clay?

    More than any other justification for the division among Christians I hear, "that's your interpretation" as if it's okay to read the bible differently than others do. :eek: So why do so many "Christians' believe that man is the potter and God's words are the clay that man can mold into whatever he wants them to say?:confused:

    It started almost 2000 years ago. It's not that "it's okay" but it's just the way it is.

    When I personally say words to the effect "that's your interpretation" I usually say other words to the effect that I understand that point of view but disagree, not that "it's okay".

    So it will be until He returns.

    Why do people wrest the scriptures? They want the scriptures to say what they desire it to say, and not what God is truly saying.

    2 Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    The OP fails to discern between matters of scriptural absolutes, and matters of scriptural liberty. The OP contends that there there is no such thing as scriptural liberty.

    Sorry, but God is not divided. So he will not tell one person one thing and another person the opposite because he's not a liar. So there is no such thing as scriptural liberty because God's word is absolute. That means that God is the potter and man is the clay. :thumbs:
