The race from race: Dems rebut Carter

Jimmy Carter is 84 years old and three decades removed from the White House, but he still has the power to make Democrats run.

    Away from him, that is.

From the White House to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, Democrats raced to distance themselves from the former president’s claim that racism was behind Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie” outburst and other attacks on President Barack Obama.

This might be a good thing. It could cause others to be more responsible with that charge and stop diminishing actual racism with its frivolous use much like what is seen on this board.

Carter was a fool in 1976 and he's a fool now. The only difference is that now, he's senile.

...and the houses he built are all starting to fall down.

Carter can tell it like it is, since he isn't running for anything.

Carter tells it like he wants it to be. He never knows "like it is".

Right. When I want somebody to "tell it like it is", the first place I go is to a guy who claims he's seen UFOs and was attacked by a killer rabbit.

Charles Krathamer (sp?) had a great retort to this bit of journalistic bovine excrement, not exact, but close:

"In my previous profession, when people heard things that were not said, we gave them some medication that usually helped!"

Probably Maureen just forgot her dose the day she heard Joe!? S'pose???:tongue3:

Carter is the only person I've heard refer to the zero as "boy".

If anyone else said it, M.P. would be screaming like Jamie Lynn Curtis.

Erm, make that J. LEE Curtis. My mistake.
