    Key phrase in your post:

    "no preconditions allowed"

People must be realistic. For example...you can't call your insurance agent when you see a funnel cloud across the street and get additional homeowner's coverage.

At some point, there must be restrictions on policies. I would hope it to be fair, and reasonable...but with no restrictions, we'll all end up with a family of four's policy costing us three grand a month.

Hey...if we would make insurance portable across state lines...that would be a great start.

Ain't gonna happen, though. Too many agendas would be messed up if that were to happen.

Save your breath because stupid Americans including apparently all of Congress have no concept of insurance principles.

The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank. It is not right wing. The policies it advocates would be better for workers than anything I see anyone else advocating.

    This is laughable.

As Ken said...Cato is libertarian. That's not "right-wing." And comparing them to John Birch is ridiculous.

But hey, when you get your information from organized crime, what else can you expect?

    OK, Libertarian, not John Birch.
