    What? Do some kids prop their dad up while he's sleeping? Must be some pretty strong children out there. :laugh:

    Do you remember congugating verbs when you were in elementary school? lie ... lay ... lain ... etc.


    lie

    –verb (used without object)

    1. to be in a horizontal, recumbent, or prostrate position, as on a bed or the ground; recline.

    Yes, I remember those days. I have lie/lay and set/sat down pat but shine/shone and lit/lighted still give me fits! No wonder foreigners have trouble learning English. I'm still learning it myself.:tongue3:

    Yes and we have words that have the same spelling but very different meanings ... and words that are pronounced the same but have very different meanings.

    Then we have British English and American English with different spellings and grammer. And speaking of spelling those French words we have adopted give even native speakers fits. It goes on and on and on.

    Also there are many more variations than just American and British English.

    English has incorporated words from almost every language spoken.

    Are we English speakers the remnants of the Tower of Babel? :laugh:

    If I'm really going to sleep - it is with a machine!!

    No I'm not referring to my wife - I have sleep apnea - so I use a bipap - daily - or should I say evenly!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
    I don't think Jan could sleep well (or is it good) - if my machine wasn't making noise.

    PS - I quit breathing 42 times an hour - when I was tested - my son, Kelly, quit breathing 62 times an hour - when he was tested.

    Life could be worse!!!

    There a lot of good life applications. Like,

    Gum and wet toilet paper should not be shoved down a sink drain

    Children playing barber shop is not a good idea

    Cream of wheat is not a good soup thickener

    and

    It's never a good idea to forget wifey's birthday----but it's even worse to remember and buy her a surprise treadmill

    Wife has the breathing machine also. Sure cuts out the snoring. What I could never figure out is why the breathing only quits at night? She sleeps during day too!
