"Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so."

No surprise. Business as usual in Washinton, D.C.

Evidently the last thing she wants is for the public to read the bill and then give them time to contact their Representative to voice opposition.

There is not going to be a health care bill period. There are not enough votes. Senior congressional abortionist Pelosi will not add provisions protecting the lives of the unborn. Pro-life Dems will not support it without it. It is dead in the water even though she is trying to get it to a vote.

I hope you are correct. This so called health care reform has been a disaster from the start. I believe it should be put aside for now so other more pressing issues can be focused on. Things like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the economy for instance.

I'd like to believe you , but I believe "pro-life democrats" can either be intimidated, compromised , or bought off by spending projects in their home districts.

Pelosi leans so far liberal that many democrats look conservative when compared to her.

I almost feel bad for the new Dems in the House. America clearly doesn't want this and has tried to tell them. They've refused to listen, instead being fooled by Pelosi and crew. The result is they will likely be going home next election.

We can only hope they are not replaced with more run-of-the-mill self serving politicians.

Unfortunately, this is the only type the RNC and the DNC will support. It's all about money and reelection, not serving the public or doing what is best for the country. We need statesman, but I fear we won't get any, just more of the same liars we have now.
