LORD vs Lord is the only thing I see of actual note... other than things being updated/changed. But some come here and tell us the KJV is perfect and complete... but which one?

These facts could affect the man-made KJV-only theory. KJV-only authors have claimed that all spelling in KJV editions was updated and standaridized by 1769 [not true]. KJV-only authors have claimed that the 1769 Oxford KJV edition was "free from any man-made error" [not true]. KJV-only authors have claimed that we today use the 1769 edition of the KJV. The title page of D. A. Waite's Defined KJB claimed that it has the "Cambridge 1769 Text" "unaltered." The facts show otherwise. Some KJV-only advocates imply that "jot" and "tittle" preservation applies to the KJV.

These example differences do not include all the actual differences between the 1611 edition of the KJV and the ten or more varying KJV editions in print today. These differences involve differences from the 1700's editions to today's KJV editions.

    yeah, why not?

whatever happened to things that are different are not the same? where's the KJBO double standard--u know, the other standard u use on other Bibles?

why not list the doctrines that are deleted or added or otherwise changed as u go through the list again--let's just start with five:

So, it's okay to make alterations in language of a translation, so long as no doctrines are changed?

BTW, do you really think spelling changes in the KJV are equal to the changes (left out passages, changing of words, different texts, etc.) made in MV's?

No, they are equal to the changed made in the KJV to translations which preceded it. It's inconsistent to compare translation to translation to determine the solidity of translation. In order to determine solidity, one must compare the translation to its source texts. If one does so, one finds that so-called "MV's" don't "left out passages, changing of words", etc. It's an easily dispelled myth. Yet, it's common to find KJVOists claim that if a passage in a translation other than the KJV differs from the KJV, then the KJV passage must be adhered to, since they consider the KJV superior. Now, in regards to the OP, it begs the question, if the KJV is to be considered superior to all other translations, which edition is superior to which?

A KJV-only web site and some KJV-only advocates have claimed that such minor changes as updating spelling or putting "to day" [two words] as one word "today" makes certain present KJV editions into "counterfeits." Are you claiming that KJV-only web site bashes or maligns the KJV? Are you opposed to providing the facts that show that such minor variations are found in the line of KJV editions that lead up to today's KJV editions?

Where do the facts of this thread imply that the minor variations in KJV editions are equal to changes made in completely different translations? On the other hand, if you want to make a valid comparison, the KJV does make the same type changes in the pre-1611 English Bibles (Tyndale's to Bishops') of which it was a revision. The KJV added whole verses not made in some of the pre-1611 English Bibles and left out verses found in two of the pre-1611 English Bibles. The KJV added phrases or clauses not found in some of the pre-1611 English Bibles and omitted phrases or clauses found in some of the pre-1611 English Bibles.

More than one thing can be learned from this thread. The thread was intended to provide accurate information about KJV editions.

From this information, it can be learned that today's KJV is not every word the same as the 1769 Oxford edition as some have claimed. It can be learned that the 1769 Oxford KJV edition was not free from all man-made error as a KJV-only author claimed. It can be learned that there are a number of variations even in today's KJV editions. It can be learned that there are inconsistencies in spelling and in use of italics in many KJV editions. A number of KJV editions seem to have been based on just one earlier edition without any collation or comparison of several editions. Some KJV editions had corrected or made some of those inconsistencies in spelling consistent many years ago but most KJV editions did not notice them or follow them. It can be learned that Waite's Defined KJB does not have the text of the "1769 Cambridge" unaltered as its title page claimed. It can be learned that some of today's KJV editions cannot validly be claimed to be "counterfeit" as one KJV-only web site claims when those same updated spellings or same variations were found in KJV editions that were in the line of editions leading up to the edition they accept.

Are you suggesting that you cannot learn anything from facts or from accurate information?

C'mon Harold: is every jot and tittle important or not? Neither of those words are in the original!

The topic here is differences in the KJV versions/editions/printing

If you want to discuss word translation choices in the KJV and other translations feel free to do so in threads on that topic.

The 1762 and 1769 editions of the 1611 are the only ones I know anyone holds to with maybe 5 differences between the two. [off topic]

Have you ever examined and compared the 1762 Cambridge edition of the KJV and the 1769 Oxford edition of the KJV? More than 5 differences between those two editions are indicated in the examples already given in this thread and in the thread with the Old Testament variations. There would be over 100 differences between the 1762 Cambridge edition and the 1769 Oxford edition. Here are a few samples from the book of Genesis.

    Gen. 10:16
    Emorite [1762 Cambridge]
    Amorite (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 15:13
    their's [1762 Cambridge]
    theirs (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 15:18
    In that [1762 Cambridge]
    In the (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 19:12
    son-in-law [1762 Cambridge]
    son in law (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 21:26
    to-day [1762 Cambridge]
    to day (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 22:4
    lift [1762 Cambridge]
    lifted (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 25:18
    towards [1762 Cambridge]
    toward (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 26:1
    besides [1762 Cambridge]
    beside (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 26:20
    our's [1762 Cambridge]
    ours (1769 Oxford)

    Gen. 37:28
    lift [1762 Cambridge]
