The Presidential campaign of 2012 will unofficially kick off in the spring/summer of 2010.

Could you name 3-5 men from each of the 2 major parties and 2 or 3 independents who could lead this country the way it should be.

NOTE: RON PAUL IS NOT AN OPTION IN THIS POLL - I have another thread going discussing him. click on Ron Paul

Also please give a short reason that backs up your choices.

    Democrats-None
    Republicans-None
    Independents-
    Dick Armey
    Allan Keyes
    Chuck Baldwin
    Fred Thompson as an Independent
    Gov Jindyl as an Independent
    Tom Knapp
    Diane Templin
    Wayne Root
    Thaddaus Hill

I would take a Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, even a Richard Nixon compared to the trash both parties will nominate in 2012.

I'm torn. If Ron Paul was really Ron Paul, I'd be speaking in the other forum. I believe in what he purports, not what he supports. I'm libertarian (small l, voted the "L" candidate in the last election).

Lamar Alexander, R, Senior senator from TN, former TN Governor.
Ken Blackwell (R), former Atty Gen of Ohio
Fred Thompson, former TN (GOP) Senator
    Alan Keyes
    Tom Tancredo, former CO Representative.

No use mentioning Dems for 2012 as I can't see Obama thrown overboard - yet.

This was nonsense when you spouted it in 2007. It is still nonsense in 2009. You need a new game plan.

And since you are speaking in the other forum I reckon I can speak in this one. :)

Since you can't decide who you support, why not post in multiple forums! Kidding friend.

I know in the past you've turned a blind eye to Ron's record, but it stands as is. His son will hopefully be more true to principle than his dad. Ron can learn a thing or two from Rand.

If it were April Fools Day, I would nominate Jeb Bush for the GOP and Al Franken for the Democrats.

Anyone smart enough and sufficiently moral to do the job is to smart to want it.
