I was hoping that there was a remote chance that senators Nelson and Webb would not prostitute themselves out for a $$ buyout.

    It was a fool's hope.

Now that there can't be any stalling...we will have government healthcare. My options will go away (my health plan will be among the first to go)...and my health savings account will of course be nixed. I will refuse to apply for government care, because I won't let my health $$ go towards killing babies. Thus, I'm going to start saving for the fines I'll have to pay.

This will be the final nail in the coffin.

Once Americans are hooked on the government health plan--much like crack dealers will give free junk to their "runners" so that they will do anything for the stuff--then they will vote for whoever will give them the most freebies each election.

This nails it. We cannot survive in the long term. We have passed the tipping point in the welfare state continuum.

I'm pessimistic--yes...but laziness is a "default setting." Once lazy Americans get used to government healthcare handouts...even though it kills babies and is of terrible quality...they'll holler for more of it.

We deserve this...because we weren't "man enough" to send the socialist scumbags packing.

One year of the worst POTUS in history, and he's accomplished more to destroy our country in one year than any other president. Congratulations, Mr. Obama. :BangHead:

I'm pretty disappointed in this legislation. I am in favor of dramatic healthcare overhaul (and a public option.) This legislation is toothless and has been crafted by the big pharmaceutical firms for their benefit.

I'm pretty sad that this is going to pass. It is going to be like the credit overhaul, just a big mess.

None of the last 140 years of federal takeover would have happened except for Lincoln's War and Revolution.

Don't forget to congratulate George W. Bush and the Republicans that ran the Congress for the first half of this decade. Without their Big Government conservatism none of this would have been possible. They set the plate.

Then you are two for two, Ken.

You voted for both Bush and Obama.

If you're going into the past, let's just get to the root of the problem.

If Adam had exercised his God-given leadership role and made Eve throw that tasty looking apple, peach, apricot, or whatever, right into the face of ole slew-foot in his serpent disguise, then none of this idiocy would be a problem today!

This was the first act of taking the Word of God and rephrasing it to suit an agenda - been a popular pastime ever since.:BangHead:

The 60th vote (Ben Nelson, I believe) made this big show about being a pro-life democrat. He wouldn't vote for health care reform as long as it had abortion in it.

Now we see his pro-life disguise was just a political move to get more money for his state. After all, murdered babies don't vote.

That's why I have finally given up on both major parties for a very, very few folks such as Ron Paul and Rand Paul.

I don't have high hopes for them, either. Their followers are too cult-like in their devotion and that disturbs me.

And don't forget Almond Joy. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, Sometimes you don't. Almond Joy's got nuts, Mounds don't."

BO ran on change... Ya'll happy now?

I've been thinking the GOP is a troubled party, but the democrats are far worse and far more dangerous... They won't stop till we're enslaved. No, they won't stop period, or till we toss them out.
