The people on this list only seem to support a democratic system when their candidate wins. The biggest complaint seems to be taxation WITH representation.

Did you mean to post a link?

I met Richard Wurmbrand at a small IFB church, back in the late 60's. I think he had an association of sorts with the world council of churches... and this is what helped, eventually, to get his release. The church was already suffering persecution... and the organized church was controlled by the state with state informants within the congregation and the clergy. The organized church was used to promote acceptance and compliance with state policy. This might seem innocent on the surface by many who think government is always good who has the people's best interest at heart.. and those who welcome the surveilance mentality of government is only there to protect the people:

However, the presence of government in the church was to disrupt and control the preaching of the gospel, discourage enthusiasm and encouragement for those who might be bold in their witness, and very strong in increasing the confusion and suspicion among worshippers that their neighbors and friends would inform on them.... both false and true reports.... with or without coercion by the state. People would disappear from the neighborhood. Members within the home would be pulled out for questioning: Children would inform on parents, and parent threatened to inform on spouse or neighbors. Employers would be threatened. People would be fired. If the church performed its ministries of helping those who needed it, the state would question the purpose and suspect collaboration or sharing of political sympathies, even if no political agreement or discussion were involved. Criminals were mistreated in the jails, but a particular brutality was meted out for 'political prisoners' which included Christians..... some even used experimentally with brainwashing techniques and given psychotropic drugs. Food was deliberately withheld or contaminated or spoiled and beatings occurred.

He saw changes in our country as an omen that the same was coming here.... if people didn't wake up and do something.

While I respect Richard Wurmbrand, I don't think we are quite dead. Just lukewarm, and that is the problem that has led us to destruction.

You know what happened to the lukewarm Christians in Revelations 3:16, right? They were spewed out of His mouth!

I'm not sayin, I am just sayin.....

Exactly. I think because we American Christians have not truly suffered, we have become lax in our desire to serve Christ.

    suffering of moral minorities

Now that the topic has been changed to the suffering of moral minorities . . . Jewish historians conclude that prior to the 1800's the Jews got better treatment from the Moslems than the Christian nations.
