Rush Limbaugh, who calls himself the man the mainstream media "love to hate," would have created a stir last week – if the media had actually taken notice

........In Los Angeles, where news-talk station KFI-AM dethroned Top 40 powerhouse KIIS-FM as the top station, Limbaugh’s ratings share went from 5.9 to 6.9 – a full point increase – with a weekly cumulative (“cume”) audience of 635,700 listeners.

.............Other cities showed monster numbers -- In St Louis, Limbaugh gained a 0.8 share, up from 9.1 last month, logging 204,400 weekly listeners.

In liberal Seattle, Limbaugh went from 9.3 in July to 10.1 in August on KTTH. In Chicago, the number three media market – and President Obama’s hometown -- Limbaugh took second place overall on WLS, increasing from 5.0 to 5.3, with 319,700 tuning in.

Even in San Francisco, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) hometown, Limbaugh's ratings on KSFO, a leading station, went from 4.9 to 5.6 – makig his show number two in the market.

Great...Rush's numbers are up. Is that really a news story? Do we really want our news sources to just report who's winning the popularity contests?

Yes, because the popularity of Rush's show indicates the consensus of Americans. The reason Rush is so popular is because most Americans are conservative. They will listen to whoever reflects their views.

The smart politicians will absolutely take notice of this.

I have only heard Rush about two or three times ever, but I used to own two of his books and was generally in agreement with most of his political views.

Not a big Rush fan, but when the man's right, he's right.

They do it quite frequently for the liberals; no reason the conservatives shouldn't get an honest plug occasionally.

But to answer your question, no they shouldn't "just report who's winning the popularity contests?". They SHOULD be reporting the facts of the sleazy operations going on in academia AND government; BUT THEY AIN'T!!!!

Sorry for posting a viewpoint that opposes to yours. In your strange little world, if someone disagrees with your viewpoint they shouldn't read or comment on the your thread, huh? It's no wonder that you are such a close minded fellow. Don't worry...I won't comment on any of your threads again. We wouldn't want to cause that thing you call a brain to hurt itself by actually thinking about a topic.
