New Jersey's state Senate has defeated a bill to legalize gay marriage, the latest in a string of setbacks for advocates.

The defeat, by a vote of 20-14, likely ends any chance that the state Legislature approves gay marriage soon. Five senators did not vote; there is one Senate vacancy.

Hopefully the pendulum is beginning to swing vigorously back to the right.

Only time will tell whether true or an anomaly, and whether it's too late for the nation to recover.

I yelled a loud "Praise God!" in my car at the grocery store when I heard it on the news. :)

I will repeat that "Praise God', but that is only one defeat. This world, and particualrly the US, has mostly turned its back on God and His commandments and decided, "We will do it OUR way!"

I see that vote another way--that it was close, with 14 voting FOR it. What if next time some decide that "Maybe we should give the people what they want and vote for gay marriages. After all, we could be hurting our chances of being reelected if we don't."
