Of course they would. This whole thing has been so messed up from the merger and on.

No way this is going to be resolved peacefully or in a Christ-honoring manner.

Too much old guard, new guard clashing.

I concur that the decision by the CRPC elders to ban the six members in question was the wrong decision. However, the actions and attitudes of the six members which led to their being banned is completely out of line, and unrighteous. They need to accept the fact that Dr Kennedy is dead, and that CRPC owes him nothing. Their new pastor was rightly chosen by the congregation according to PCA rules and procedures, and these six folks need to accept it, or leave.

==What I find sad is how the ministry he built seems to have fallen apart in just a few short years.

It reveals a lot about whom these people were following.

That's expected. The Coral Ridge Hour, and its related ministries, were centered around a personality, being Dr Kennedy. He's dead now. The demise of the program is therefore to be expected. Religious television ministries rarely, if ever, survive the passing of the torch from one person to another. TO expect the Coral Ridge Hour to continue after his death is unreasonable, and its demise shouldn't in any way reflect negatively on the current pastroate of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.

Dr Rogers is an exception to the rule, and not the morm. But even his tv ministry "Love Worth Finding" has experienced a steady and predicatable decline since his death.

==That is true. I've heard that when Charles Stanley is away the attendence at First Baptist Atlanta drops. Even in my little church when the pastor is out attendence is down. Adrian Rogers was (still is) one of the greats. I imagine his ministry will continue in one form or another for a long time to come. Hopefully, Charles Stanley's ministry will do the same. Jerry Falwell's ministry is still going strong under the leadership of Jonathan Falwell. I imagine that has more to do with the church and the university than the man though.

Funny you should mention that. I've been to First Baptist in Atlanta (Charles Stanley's church) when he was out of town, and I can attest to that. The church was, at best, half full, and a member told me it was usually 80% full when he preaches.

Even in my own little church of 150-200 people, when our pastor is away, attendance drops by at least 25%.

That's just the way it is, warts and all.

I am quite puzzled by continued pretentions here that the Coral Ridge Hour has demised or folded. Coral Ridge Ministries is a separate entity from the church, and continues on despite the turmoil there. Dr. Kennedy's sermons as well as new programming can be seen on the weekly broadcast.

Jerome, the short answer is that the CRPC cancelled the Coral Ridge Hour program (referring to them having cancelled any new program tapings), following a sharp decline in viewership after Dr Kennedy's death. The Coral Ridge Hour as seen today (which is no longer an hour, but is now a half-hour) continues to air truncated rebroadcasts of previous tapings, updating the financial appeal secions of each. They unfortunately continue to experience declining revenues, and have already cancelled broacasts in most of their prior viewing areas. It is likely just a matter of time before aired broadcasts cease entirely. Unfortunate, but inevitable.
