State Dept. official admits Obama 'violated' campaign promises on no-bid contracts

    The U.S. has canceled a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan awarded to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids.

    The cancellation comes after Fox News first reported on the details of the contract last week, prompting lawmakers to make inquiries into the deal. State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley told Fox News that USAID terminated the award and is now working on an appropriate resolution.........

    ........."If you want to say this violates the basis on which this administration came into office and campaigned, fair enough," Crowley told Fox News.

    'Stossel' Finds 'Crony Capitalism' in Green Jobs Stimulus

    Fox Business notes close connection between White House and only window maker that got tax credit.

    Crony capitalism is often a charge liberals make against conservative politicians, but Fox Business Network found an example of such cronyism connected to the Obama White House that included tax breaks and direct endorsements by both the president and vice president.

    Stossel’s report showed video clips of a Serious Materials representative introducing President Obama and CEO Kevin Surace thanking Vice President Biden for his “unwavering support.”

    The report also pointed out that the company’s policy director is married to Cathy Zoi, Asst. Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Stossel called her the “weatherization boss.”

    I heard an editorial read on the way home from work one day recently. I don't know the author because someone was reading it from a newspaper and I just didn't catch that part. It was a sappy editorial except for one line that was halfway profound and went something like - "I've come to discover that change is just a euphemism for business as usual."
