I have often wondered the same thing. How can a parent kill their own children? How can anyone kill any child? How evil must someone be to rape, stab, shoot, drown, or do other wicked things to children who are so innocent and trusting?

I agree that we should quit trying to understand these sickos and get rid of them. I was sexually, mentally, and physically abused as a child, but it didn't turn me into a pedophile or a killer--thanks be to God.

The excuse "I was abused as a child, and that's why I do these things" is just that--an excuse. There is NO excuse for hate, for crimes against others (especially innocent children), or for living a wicked life with no regard whatsoever for the consequences or for the harm that will be done to others.

We need stricter and stronger consequences for our actions instead of coddling criminals and treating them as though THEY are the victims and not the ones they hurt, maim, or kill.

 

The US is a country of laws so there isn't much we can do about it.
The criminal lawyer's job is to get his client off the hook and if he has to portray the client as the victim, he will do it. Just the way it is.
That said, I have more admiration for the former police major who commanded my brother-in-law's unit back in the 70's.
He had a standing order for known and unreformed recidivists, criminals, hoodlums, and the like: "I don't want to see them".

 

NEGATIVE, the criminal lawyer's job is to assure that his client does not get railroaded! Unfortunately, the modern concept is just what you stated though, and thusly the sharpest or most manipulative of the defense/prosecution combo will, in way too many cases, win the favor of the jury. The ultimate end being a total miscarriage of justice. (Think OJ)

Know this feeling. just like the underwear bomber - if it were known that he was going to be coddled by this administration (term used loosely!:laugh, it would have been better for all concerned for the feds to have had a little firing practice that day!

I know I am the exception here, but when I read about such things I feel such strong sadness and not venom and hate. My heart breaks for the children, but I can't help and also feel sad how utterly lost and so far from God a person must be do arrive at that point in their lives that they are capable of such horrible things. Such acts are so evil it is nauseating.

I am so far apart from where that person is, but yet in I am sure it pales in comparison of how God must have viewed my sin with His holy perfection. I am so thankful and humbled by Gods grace.

There is so much evil in this world, but I still find it impossible to not desire for everyone to be saved and know Gods grace, even the most horrid.

None of this means that people that commit murder should not spend the rest of their lives behind bars because of their crimes. They should.

 

My heart always pulls me through the same hoops. I pray for the people involved, mainly because someone in my family was falsely accused of a crime, went through the legal process, and was guilty until proven innocent. This is what happens in this country, not what our founding fathers intended AT ALL. And I work for law enforcement, so I can say that and not be lambasted, ok folks? Yes, we still have the best legal system in the world, but it is not perfect, by any means. Once the case gets to court, it is a legal circus, and regardless of the facts, anyone can get off because of a technicality.

AND.....MEDIA is the problem. You don't know if what you read was the truth or some sensationalized tabloid blurb. Our PIA (Public Information Officer) is misquoted every day of the year by the reporters who talk with her, and it seems that a degree in Journalism give license to transliterate every comment and quote in order to sell the rag.

So unless I see it happen, I hold judgement for the jury and pray that law enforcement did their job correctly and that the lawyers don't spin it and change it in the process.

UI understand the sentiment, mine would also be like that. But we need to be busier about doing the Lord's work and trying to reach every soul for Christ.

"Where there's a creature, there needs to be a preacher" I don't know who said it, but when I heard it, it has stayed with me now for about 15 years or more.

Do all you can, then do some more.

I watched a documentary on WWII's "Warsaw Uprising"----Hitler's SS massacred over 200,000 Poles----including women and children in the city of Warsaw alone---such sadness is part of a world gone wild!!! Getting wilder as the days grow dark!!
