A federal lawsuit has been filed against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, challenging the constitutionality of the recently enacted federal "Hate Crimes Act."

The lawsuit was filed against Holder by the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) on behalf of three Michigan pastors and the president of the American Family Association of Michigan. Robert Muise, senior trial counsel for the TMLC and the attorney handling the case, tells OneNewsNow this law, attached to a defense authorization bill that the president signed last October, is political payoff.

Robert Muise (Thomas More Law Center)"Those who supported this recent administration -- the homosexual lobby group, the homosexual activists -- it's no doubt that they had this as one of their top priorities because it’s the wedge to creating greater federal protections for certain class of persons, and those being people who engage in a form of certain deviate sexual behavior," Muise comments.

"The pastors are Jim Combs of Waterford, Rene Ouellette of Bridgeport and Levon Yuille of Ypsilanti." Chicago Tribune

    Politics sure makes strange bedfellows.

Jim Combs pastors Faith Church, "The River", "The Point", and "The Rock".
Rene (AKA R.B.) Ouelette, pastors First Baptist Church of Bridgeport (IFB)
Levon Yuille pastors The Bible Church of Ypsilanti: A Spirit Filled Church.

One of Rev. Combs's churches was raided last year after neighbors complained about it's worship band's too-loud rock music.

Oh how un-godly of pastor Comb's church to play the wrong kind of music of course which has nothing at all to do with this thread.

Nothing wrong with filing suit. That's the Court's job: to determine if a statute is constitutional or not.

Yep...I'm scratching my head, trying to figure out (a) why Jerome's post was germane to this discussion, and (b) where his next post is heading.

Face it: Eric Holder is likely the most corrupt, and evil, of Obama's bunch. This guy will let you get by with anything as long as:

    1. You are black; and
    2. Your actions involve trying to get Dems elected; or
    3. Your actions manage to prohibit evil white people or evil non-Dems from casting votes for their evil party/choices.

This guy is scum, plain and simple.

Now for the clincher: The Inspector General of the Department of "Justice" cannot investigate. Why? Because he lacks authority to do so!! What a load of horse squeeze. Eric Holder will not allow an investigation by a man whose JOB it is to investigate...simply because the thugs were black, and helping leftists.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...spector-general-stripped-investigative-power/

Change party affiliation, and/or race, and Eric Holder would probably shoot the perps himself.

What a disgusting excuse for a human being. This cretin should be in jail, or under it.

    Update, one year later:

The lawsuit filed by Fundamental Baptist Pastor Renee Ouellette and others was dismissed late last year by a Bush-appointed judge.

“The Act does not proscribe speech. It prohibits only violent conduct and includes specific provisions ensuring that it may not be applied to infringe any rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.”

That's right! In America no one can take away our right to speak out when something is wrong. Nothing prohibits these pastors from speaking the minds, and in their case their words can speak louder than any of their actions. I wouldn't take this as a loss.

Have you ever heard the oled Nomad proverb about letting the camel stick its nose under the edge of the tent? :BangHead:

    There is no such thing...

The Camel doesn't stop at the tent edge...

Once the nose is in the rest follows rather quickly...

BTW: *IF* The point of the law was "only" against violent behavior, there were plenty of laws already on the books and they were being enforced.

No, this is the Camels Nose...:tear:

Hate crime legislation (totally unnecessary BTW...since hurting people is already illegal) is here to stay.

Or should I say, "thought crime legislation" is here to stay. Certain thoughts. Thoughts Not Allowed.

I still contend that Eric Holder is the most despicable of the Obama administration to hold office. He is a racist, freedom-averse, power-hungry man who will do more to wreck our liberties than just about any other Obama appointee.

We can only hope that sane judicial minds keep this guy in line (yeah...right: Like there's enough of them...and like he listens to judges).

The good Rev was banned? That's hard to imagine. Hope it ain't permanent. I always enjoyed his posts. He had a nose for news and an unflinching commitment to Christ and conservative politics. (Can't have one without the other, really.)

I wondered where he went. Just assumed he lost interest.

He's been banned a long while, Aaron. Not sure what happened. I'm sure if it were any of my business, they'd let me know. :D

Sorry...looked at my response and it looked smart-alecky. Didn't mean it that way.

Just meant he had been gone for months now...and it was kind of *poof!*

    Hope he's doing OK.
