You all are swingin' your swords in the fields, but the enemy's in the village.

The ban on discussing human sexuality needs to be revised to mean no graphic or irreverent discussions, or you need to create another private forum for adults of both genders. We're faced with the increasing profanation of this issue on a daily basis, and it sometimes needs to be discussed in mixed company.

Is that what happened to the thread on homosexuality?

I totally agree with Aaron. There needs to be a private forum for both genders where sanctified and holy men and women of God can discuss issues of morality and immorality and how Christians and the church can deal with it.

If it is a topic that is discussed in the Bible, there ought to be a place - even if it's private - where Christians can discuss those Biblical topics.

Bro. Blackbird was forced to remove it because of a full blown advertisement by Google to a web page that solicited the lifestyle. I wish that this BB could be subscriber supported so we could get rid of the ads!

I agree 100% with Aaron on this..

A total ban on this topic is in effect shutting down our opinions to the world..

A world that needs to hear the truth...

    I agree as well.

I understand the point about the ads, but couldn't the ads be removed from a special forum so nothing would be showing up on that page?

Ironically I too agree with Aaron on this.

There is not reason, other than sheer laziness, why the google ads feature cannot be modified.

When faced with exploding social issues we need to make sure there is a way to honestly confront the issues.

We DO have a separate men and women's forum.

Then again I guess it doesn't do much good as far as debating those more personal topics since we can't debate in ours.

Maybe I am being cynical but I don't believe that the site ownership couldn't take steps to control the content of the ads to that extent, if they chose to do so.

I don't get the ads so it doesn't bother me at all.

For those who are disturbed by it, maybe an offer to pay the owner the equivalent of what he makes from the ads or whatever it might take for him to control that would help. It's worth a shot to ask if it's worth it to you to get rid of them, although just a few clicks and changes of your browser should block them for free.

Took the words right out of my mouth! As per the ads, rather than stick our heads in the sand, deal with them too...hey, it's out there, everywhere, we (Christians) should stand up for what is right and let our voices and values be heard.

    **Moderator note**

I took the initiative myself to delete the thread----on the premise there was a full blown ad concerning the issue----an ad that I have never seen here on BB before today

When someone posts a new thread---BB is set up where Google can read the topics and then supply(automatically) advertisements along the lines of basic wording

The ad in question was filth from Hell itself---take the issue up with an administrator if you like----but the judgment was mine----I kinda figured---today was Saturday---the ad was in a place where it didn't belong---it would take a while to contact the webmaster concerning the ad---so I deleted it----I saved it to my PC archives if anyone would like to see an advertisement born in the Hell's Maternity Ward

There is also a rule that is posted as a "sticky"thread agreed upon by moderators/administration---before posting any such topics--please review the thread----if your topic appears to be against the rule of the BB--it will be deleted

    Thank you

    Bro. David

I ignore most of the ads, but there have been some that at times still drew my eye and I wish they hadn't.

Thank you blackbird and every moderator for your work here! I hate you were put in the position of having to see the ad and make the decision.

BUT Christian adult conversations about adult related things is something I expect we should be able to have. What is hard to accept is that ads HAVE to limit our conversations. Surely there is a way around this.

I should say that Bro. David was kind enough to PM me this morning and explain his reasoning and I concur with his decision. However I do hope that a work-around might be found to this.

I thought it was ironic to see the sticky "No threads about human sexuality" then see a thread on homosexuality. (But that's the obnoxious"Harold" while PW sighs loudly rolling his eyes until it hurts his head). True these should be discussed. Aren't there filters which could have prevented the offensive ads? If so, it would be good for BB to have them so mods didn't have to do the "footwork"

Such subjects or threads should be relegated to the Private Men's Forum or Private Women's Forum. Sometimes moving threads are difficult. If you discuss threads on sexuality here you will: 1) attract unwanted advertisements from google, and 2) provide sensitive and objectionable material for an audience that is family oriented.

I'd rather not see some of those nasty ads like that and I for one am glad you deleted it first.
