Small plane hits building...

Sounds like some nut. It was reported that he first burned his own home down before leaving to do this, and had some type of beef with the IRS.

 

And now a United jet from DEN to SFO has been diverted to SLC over a bomb threat. Unrelated, but weird things with planes today.

 

Thank God I drive everywhere now.

Just my choice. It is frustrating to be hard-of-hearing, have a deaf wife, and deal with the glorified Keystone Cops called the TSA. Anyone who is "handicapped" gets extra scrutiny. The last time we went through my wife was hassled because she could not understand the instructions of the KC who was shouting at her (that really helps ) while I was trying to shepherd our carry-ons, shoes, wallets, purse, etc. Driving may take me an extra day or so but I arrive much more relaxed.

 

Sorry to hear about what you are put through, and it makes sense to avoid if can. I just didn't understand how it related to the OP?

The relation is that the TSA and our beloved HSA Director will find more hoops for the flying public to jump through. Now they will target private pilots.

 

Earlier this week I read where the TSA at the Philadephia International Airport forced a young boy who had to wear metal leg braces to remove his braces before they would "scan' him.

His parents protested but to no avail.

At any rate, back to the topic of the OP. It seems this man had real issues with the IRS and on a posting on the internet told the world [before this "manifesto" was removed on the FBI's request] that he intended to do something "violent" about it.

It'll be interesting to see what the DHS/TSA or FAA will do in response to this.

 

Kinda blows the conspiracy theories out of the water, doesn't it?

 

I wonder if the far out talking heads with their sensational, negative messages help push some people over the edge, like this fellow?

I heard that he may have packed something into the plane with him to give it more 'punch' when it hit the building.

 

One cannot compare the size of an airplane to a World Trade Center tower and compare the size of an airplane to the Austin office building and eliminate the questions about what really happened on 9/11/2001.

But just like the murder of President Kennedy we will never have the truth confirmed. All we will have is theories.

All one has to do is go through an audit with the IRS to be pushed over the edge.

 

I don't think that he needed anyone's help to go over the edge.
